    A Retail's Day Trading Experiment

14 trades/day is quite a lot. I am also struggling with overtrading. Everyday I can see 2-3 good trades afterwards.

Market chop... buy the bottom of the range, sell top of range. Nothing other until range breaks.

Darn, even a trading forum gets so emotional and heated. No wonder in the real market most people lose. LOL I have learned to bail out if I am losing for more than 5 minutes (using 5-min bar chart), no matter what I think or I am right or wrong. No questions asked. Keep calm and proceed.

Market chop... buy the bottom of the range, sell top of range. Nothing other until range breaks.

I think trading is very simple in theory but rather hard in practice and master, like golfing and some other sports.

Trade what you see PA & trend (minus market tricks/traps), not what you think and predict.

Prudent Risk Management Is The Only True Edge In TRADING

Risk management is huge in trading but I think there are other edges. So many great traders didn’t/don’t use the same edge.

    A Retail's Day Trading Experiment

I still have overtrading problems so my win rate is a little over 50% in general. Since I only use very tight stops (predetermined hard stop or timed stop usually with 5-10 mins) entry timing becomes critical. Now my biggest issue is loss control. For example, I can be positive every day for a...

    A Retail's Day Trading Experiment

@ironchef, you will definitely feel it if you have a real edge. I have been looking at the market for over 10 years. Only a few years ago one day I suddenly felt I could see the market clearly once or twice a day. At that moment I realized I finally gained some edge.

Tit For Tat: Who will win this war?

Well when you’re technically behind so much all you can do in the beginning is copying others. After more development and advancement you can start innovating again. In fact, China’s innovation flourished in the past decades, such as 5G technology from Huawei, drones from DJI and the whole EV...

Tit For Tat: Who will win this war?

I think both of you have a point or two. Around 30 years ago I came to the US after graduating from college in China, so I have been living in the western world, namely the USA, for most of my adult life. What do I feel about the current situation between the US and China? A quite mixed view...

    A Retail's Day Trading Experiment

My experience has been it’s harder to ride a trend than scalp or do short term momentum trades during day trading. You probably will be stopped out 90% of the time unless your stop is wide, which would result in significant losses after a few wrong trades. On the other hand, for beginners it’s...

Tit For Tat: Who will win this war?

I would say that’s for the mutual benefit. No one is an altruist in this world. Another political reason was the US wanted ally with China to counter Soviet Union.
