Sorry for the delayed response. I've been swing trading the AUD/USD, holding multiple (2 to 3) small positions for several days. Still experimenting with my pain threshold, as far as letting the pair move against me. Currently 2 long at .08300 average. Shit.....I'm in the hole!

I don't try to trade the news, either. RBA Stevens had a bigger effect on the AUD/USD with his comments the other night. Most of the moves seem to be baked in before the news release, anyway.

US durable goods report at 8:30 eastern. Any thoughts on how this will affect USD?

I don't trade it much, anymore. 100 pip stops were fairly tight. The volatility in the pair has decreased, but the daily range is still big. In other words....it kicked my ass several times!

Also, 35 pips is too tight for that pair. My experience only.

In my experience, the EUR/AUD moves inversely to the AUD/USD. Not always. It consolidates at its own pace.

I'm just about where I was 30 days ago, as far as account $. AUD/USD, it's a love/hate relationship. Gold is back over $950.00. Stocks rally. No idea WTF is going on. Of course, if things were reversed, I'd be a freakin genius.:p

Increase: This is a good counter-point. In addition to your interest in indicators, you should read about fractals and randomness in markets. If MA's work for you,then great. It just helps to have a view from the other side, so you won't feel terrible when your stochastics (or whatever indic.)...

McDonalds pays much less for their inventory. Their cost control structure is the envy of the industry. There is no fair cost comparison with them. Ideally, a restaurant strives for 30% profit. My family has been in business (pizza) for nearly 40 years, we know of no store doing those numbers...
