    Has anytone tried TradeStation brokerage?

the data feed was behind and unreliable. The time and sales would just freeze for a minute or more and then burst to catch up. Just rediculous! Many times during the free trial the data would just stop! I called them and asked what was up, their reply was that they were having problems...

    Has anytone tried TradeStation brokerage?

fooliosbrother, my experience was limited to the 10 day trial they offer. This was back in June. So they *may* have changed. Although that is not what I hear from others. Just a note of caution. Try their trial offer and see for yourself.

    New Trader Need Help !!!

as far as I know there is no datafee/charting that has integrated with IB the one I use is RealTick (I've found it reliable and good for my needs) You have to check out what is there and see how it fits to your needs. For example, if you swing trade and only need eod then you wouldn't need...

Dec. Fortune Mag: $11,000 into 18 Million in 3 years

as I said in my original post I have nothing against shortboy.com Yes he has beaten the SP500. But isn't that a moot point? This being a bear market and he a dedicated shortseller? Anyway, I do believe that it is misleading when he adds interest income to trading income and then presents...

    Has anytone tried TradeStation brokerage?

haven't used the execution platform but can tell you that their datafeed is extremely unreliable and slow. So it doesn't matter how fast you can execute trades, if those trades are based on dated prices. Consider this your warning.

Dec. Fortune Mag: $11,000 into 18 Million in 3 years

oh and about shortboy.com go back and deduct all the interest income he gives himself and you will discover his performance is, well, how shall I put this diplomatically?....not that good I e-mailed him early on (when he started the site 2 years ago) and asked him why he was adding...

Dec. Fortune Mag: $11,000 into 18 Million in 3 years

Rock, as a reply, yes I believe that Waxie is not pro. I can't believe your attitude! Its' like you haven't read the multiple replies that vvv and others are posting about stop limits and money management. If you're a trader and you're good, you go into the biz. No buts, ifs about it. Its...

Don't hold your breath for Waxie to start a hedge fund. That's what professionals do. It is very easy to smudge performance when you only give entry signals. Especially when you have a megaphone for a larynx. lol....Soros selling entry signals..good one :)

Dec. Fortune Mag: $11,000 into 18 Million in 3 years

Thanks for the update. I also contacted trendfund's Waxie with an e-mail that contained the SAME concerns that you had (illiquid stocks). And I received pretty much the same reply from the same person, Laurie. I pointed out to her some specific examples and showed her how if even HALF of...

    Barrons 7/2/01: Direct Access Showdown

def, please write a letter to Barron's Editor pointing out the flaws in their rating system. I too read that article and felt that it was just irresponsible of such a highly regarded publication such as Barron's to be so far off the mark.

    newbie needs a critique

Here's what you're missing in your strategy: 1]margin for the short position (cash drag would reduce your yield/return) 2]possibility that stock peek-a-boos above your stop price ($55) and then heads down. What do you do? reestablish the short? at what price? 3]this is a rather...

    Tape reading

day trading or intra day trading has been around since the dawn of exchanges, but today's technology brings that same opportunity to a much larger number of people. Getting back to the topic of this thread, found two good examples of real-time tape reading from realitytrader...

On money creation and random walks...

I don't see how Bernstein's writing on page 306 sheds any light on this issue (?) But judge for yourself: To set the context, he is talking about farmers being helpless in the face of volatile commodity markets in a chapter devoted to derivatives. "On occasion, the other side of the deal...

On money creation and random walks...

not really a zero sum game actually when you consider slippage, spreads, and commissions it is clearly a negative sum game! :) money management basically allows you to reduce drastically the chances of blowing up. It allows you to stay in the game until your edge has a chance to play...
