    The ACD Method

Hi, Mav, is the next installment coming out soon?

    The ACD Method

ACD guys, how are doing in general in this environment of low volatility, especially this August? Did shrunk volatility affect your profits or methodology?

Grinding it out, day after day

I guess, the original question was about the way you scale in/out of these 5000 shares. Maybe you can share how you closed your positions on that "fat finder day" couple years ago when you got filled with opg on many illiquid stocks? I think that could be quite illustrative. Do you use any algos...

Grinding it out, day after day

Speaking about volatility in this context, what do you mean exactly: presence of large price swings back and forth? Having increased number of people making illogical and ineffective decisions? Something else?

    The ACD Method

No, I doubted the credibility of the statement "it is possible to trade ES consistently profitable using ACD methodology (wide stops)" because of excessive wealth such a practitioner would acquire. But I already got all the answers I needed.

    The ACD Method

Yes, maybe, but ACD is about direction, isn't it? And if you someone magically knows the ES is going down next hour, he can open virtually unlimited position with limit orders when ES is temporarily going against him, right?

    The ACD Method

Let's say the trader X is consistently profitable trading the ES with ACD (or with any other method for that sake). As the ES is a very liquid contract, trader X can scale up, as his consistent profits build up, and his position size will grow from 1 contract in the beginning to 1000's of...

    The ACD Method

Guys, can you clarify for me the following. Apparently, the ACD method works the best with the most liquid and volatile instruments. Obviously, a consistently profitable ACD trader will scale up beyond any reasonable limits and will become the richest living person on Earth. Somehow, nobody...

I too am curious, whether you have a back up plan, lescor? Earlier you mentioned that it felt like somebody turned a switch half a year ago. What are you going to do if somebody else pulls another switch so that profits become completely negligible? Do you admit there is such probability? Thanks.

I'll keep an eye on you Eddiefl too. Seriously, is there any difference in exposing 2 years or 10 years? Admit, folks, you too wanted to know lescor's track, but just didn't dare to ask ;) And moreover, I'm far from insisting, if you noticed. Just if lescor's in the mood. So please refrain...

[/B] Lescor, somehow I feel that could be an inappropriate request, but if not, would you mind disclosing profit per year since 2002 and number of shares traded?

    Price improvement

Nope, price increment for this particular stock (GNC) is 0.01. Or?

    Price improvement

    Hi traders, Often I see prints in the middle of the stock's bid/ask spread. Example: 2400 28.00 --- 28.005 x 100 --- 28.01 500 2400 28.00 --- 28.01 x 200 ---- 28.01 500 2400 28.00 --- 28.0069 x 100 -- 28.01 500 What are they? If this is a price improvement a bd gives to a...

    Pair Trading Strategy Journal

As I already mentioned here, VXX/VXZ was an example of such a pair (not anymore, unfortunately). So the answer is yes, such pairs do exist ;)

Grinding it out, day after day

How did you make this observation, austinp? I mean how did you know there was bid-pinning and now it's not. What tools? DOM? How? What I noticed is that for the last couple of weeks there were almost no stocks that trended the whole day. Majority had their trend broken sooner or later...

    Pair Trading Strategy Journal

I've been trading this pair (-150VXX+100VXZ) intraday (RTM). Starting after the flash crash in May 2010 it worked just beautifully for a couple of months. And then this nice predictable behavior suddenly disappeared. I don't see there any intraday mean reversion anymore. And yes, as the guy...
