    NYSE Limit orders

When I see INCA/ISLD bid/offer that suits me, I just send the order directly through them. There is no way to beat the speed of ISLD/INCA to ISLD/INCA execution. As for ARCA's routing speed to ECN's and the order's routing to New York, I'll have to get back to you tomorrow. Don't want to post...

    NYSE Limit orders

That's a great link. Thanks for posting it. ARCA to ARCA is instant, ARCA to other exchanges (i'm referring to limit orders) take some time, 3-5 and more seconds, at least the reporting.

    NYSE Limit orders

I've used IOC on arca but haven't heard about NOW orders. arca IOC orders don't hit local exchages, I believe.

    NYSE Limit orders

I use a lot of arca, isld and inca for listed stocks. It's a pretty good way to get a fill on some of more active ones. I use Redi+ and sometimes get arca quotes that are not there, but most of the time arca works fine. On some trading platforms you can even use arca to hit NASD, BSE and other...

    NYSE Limit orders

At 1st scenario both your order will probably get executed at 25. Since you said it's a normal market, a round number like 25 will have enough buyers for your small 2000 share order. Your 2nd scenario is not a normal market for GE. So your sell limit at 24.7 could get executed anywhere...

    What If.....

Many years ago, back in college, I knew a guy whom you remind me of. He was a compulsive gambler. It started with betting on sports, he lost some money, not much, started playing blackjack, lost some more, started looking into the stock market. He openned a paper account, and showed us his...

    Shorting NYSE Postmarket

If I mark my trade as "sell" instead of "sell short" it will constitute a violation. I believe that even on nasdaq you have to correctly mark you after hours shorts.

    Shorting NYSE Postmarket

I have bullet accounts with essex radez and susquehanna. Essex radex lets me put bullets on listed after hours, sfg (susquehanna) doesn't. (at least it didn't last time I tried it, a couple of months ago)

    good day/bad day

You can't really tell whether you had a good or bad day just by the amount of money you made or lost, but in the relation to the opportunities that were present that day for your style of trading. I've had a day with a 5 digit profit when I was really upset, and also had days when I was happy to...
