i have a few fre jul 15 calls for .25 just as a flyer. i just couldn't sleep with the FNM 15s over the weekend.. i'll likley regret selling them.

I suppose... if they cant sell paper. the government will have to buy it once the gov. buys one piece of new paper, they have to buy future auctions.. there was no statement that said FRE and FNM have to stop lending. so the taxpayer is on the hook for future auctions if no one else...

the bail out may be what finally pops the most overvalued piece of paper on the planet = the 10 year trez. a bottomless pit of potential supply ahead of us.

no money has changed hands.. all I think that has happened is that FRE and FNM wont have an auction that blows up on them.. then it's too late..

the GSE bailout is a 180 for the White House since all we heard is no bailout here..no bailout there there must have been some hideous scenarios put before Bush had he not agreed to what we have now. I have a sense that the to-big-to-fail bailout ship is leaving the dock..

the test is to see how the FRE auction goes tomorrow. sure, somebody will buy the stuff but at what price?
