    Coronavirus Crisis vs Credit Crisis

BTW, a 20x p/e on the S&P would bring us to ~2670 -- a 22% drop needed to get us in the neighborhood of historic price/earnings norms....:wtf::confused:

    What market crash or correction?

I am one of those who are short-term bullish and feel the corona-market-virus is overblown, so I appreciate your post -- *very* enlightening of things to which I need to be much more mindful.:thumbsup::thumbsup: ((S&Pearnings * 20 = 2670.6, btw ))

    Rithmic data latency issue

This is beginning to sound like a Java versions/libraries issue. • Sudden onset... • Recent version(s) change • Works when _____ is shut down/removed from operative paths. Do you have any access to the code? Is there an error log anywhere about?

    Rithmic data latency issue

You need to do a lot more homework on your own (and post the results) before you'll get a constructive response. Your issue could be a loose connection in your router. It could be an as-yet undiagnosed firmware issue in your router, where a simple shut-down/reboot takes care of everything. Time...

    Why will this not work?

You will get much better responses if you re-post your question without $figuures -- just strikes, mkt, premium(s). Your mixing of market and account numbers clouds your question.

Noobie question about probability of ITM (math, probability)

So, P(Touch) for a 0.75 delta is 25%, or (2*25%) 50%? This is very interesting. I haven't seen the actual P(Touch) in a while, but would love to map this "twice(OTMδ)" rule-of-thumb and see how they track. Any sources handy?

    Here comes negative rates!

You nearly made an accurate point: annual average U.S. mortality from flu and flu-related causes is ~6300. 600 deaths would represent ~38 days' worth. Errrrrr, no. CDC sez 6,300/year -- that means ~17 per day, not 100.

    Here comes negative rates!

So you two missed the 4.5% rise between Friday's close and Monday's close? Eh? One-third of the drop in 1 day? Eh? Panty-up. ((It's 11:30am Eastern Time. What happens every market day, at 11:30am? Anyone? Anyone? Drooler?)) :wtf::rolleyes::p

    Here comes negative rates!

nope. 11am press conference will detail the 'why' of it -- a risk buy-off, driven by CoVID-19. When the dampener is gone, the cut is gone (barring intervening events). ((I am not a FED governor, nor do I have microphones hidden in FED meeting rooms, nor do I have any blackmail with which to...

Noobie question about probability of ITM (math, probability)

WOW! It looks like a whole raft of new BSM/delta/probability videos have been posted to YouTube in the last couple of years! Could be great stuff; could be stinkers. (There are a stunning amount of stinkers -- warning.) Bionic Turtle is a great source for all sorts of math -- I used him in...

How do we start multiple booktraders in IB TWS?

multiple methods -- • go up top, hit the wrench icon, put the BookTrader button into the mix. This is limited real estate, so if you don't have a specific use for every button there, clear them out. You can always add them back. • right-click on contract, hit TradingTools, select BookTrader...

Opening an IB Universal Account takes so long!

IBKR is a hurdle to get into -- yep. Maybe Robinhood is more your speed? But for so many brokers, getting your capital *out* is a royal pain. Withdrawing money from IBKR is -- with proper prep -- two or three clicks away. Consider the difference before you whine too much.

Depends on what the end-game of Gizmo is to be... if a long position in Gizmo is desired, then a short put is a great thing -- if a short position in Gizmo is the thing, then a short call puts money in the bank. if Gizmo is expected down, then run run run. if Gizmo is to run up, then buy some...
