    MultiCharts / Interactive Brokers

I guess I am not quite sure what your point is - you are comparing apples to oranges. IB data is aggregated. I don't remember if they update up to 4 times per second, or up to 10, but the point is, they will absolutely not match anything that returns every tick like IQFeed. IQFeed can easily...

    MultiCharts / Interactive Brokers

I would be surprised if you didn't see that. IB data is not tick by tick. it is aggregated. Same for many other brokers. Even when comparing two datafeeds that are supposed to be returning every tick, I have seen small differences. That has nothing to do with their trading impacting the data.

no, it works that way for bid/asks as well. IB returns NBBO which is the same for everyone

    MultiCharts / Interactive Brokers

if you need 1 tick resolution, IB data is definitely not for you. They simply don't have it via the API. As for prices/orders using IQ not being available at IB, that just isn't how it works. It works that way on crypto exchanges, but not on stock exchanges. The datafeeds are not broker specific.

    MultiCharts / Interactive Brokers

@BIG1RED9 as far as IB vs IQFeed data, IQFeed is tick by tick. IB is not, so when you get a lot more ticks, that is because IQFeed is more accurate. I can't imagine a strategy that would work better with less accurate data, though if using tick charts, the difference will obviously be quite...

Execution speed of Dastrader, Sterling, RealTick?

nothing like burying stuff THAT deep. from the looks of that page, it only applies to Canadian, BATS Europe, and Singapore exchanges?

Execution speed of Dastrader, Sterling, RealTick?

I am not aware of any IB API specific fees for trading. Direct routing or otherwise. I did a search and didn't find any

    Das Trader Pro Demo Account.

In MT the quotes on the trade ticket, by default are from the broker you select, so if using IB, they will be coming from IB. If you are not subscribed to IB's RT streaming quotes, then they will be delayed. If you are subscribed, then they will be real-time. That is not a platform issue, but...

Execution speed of Dastrader, Sterling, RealTick?

Medved Trader connects to IB's standard API - Execution has nothing to do with Medved Trader - once the order is sent, it is in IB's hands. MT does not manage the order. As for features, I don't know what features are "srsly lacking" - but definitely have not had complaints about that. MT's...

Shopping for new software / broker / data feed

MT has it's own API but the current implementation is just for backward compatibility with QuoteTracker. REST, no trading. we plan to add streaming and trading capabilities to the API in the future

Shopping for new software / broker / data feed

if you have a TD Ameritrade account, you can use it in MT without having to get any other datafeed. You do still need to pay for the software ($19.99/month or 179.99/year). MT can get Level I, Level II, news, backfill from TDA and of course full trading.

Shopping for new software / broker / data feed

Shouldn't be any issue executing with TD Ameritrade via Medved Trader. NOTE: TDA API supports stocks/options for trading, but not futures at this time, regardless of which 3rd party software you use for access. You can get futures data. Just not trading

    Realtime Scanner-Fully programmable

In Medved Trader, they are executed on your computer. the scan is on a Portfolio/Watchlist. Some sources in MT can handle large lists. For example, TD Ameritrade and E*Trade are max 1,500. IQFeed and QuoteMedia are max 1,200 depending on subscription. Stockwatch is up to 600, depending on...

How can I get live real time data without paying extra fees?

Yahoo provides BATS ECN data I believe for free, which is real-time, but does not cover the full market, so the quality will definitely differ from one symbol to another. TD Ameritrade - RT data for stocks, options, futures, forex. just need to have an account. IB for all practical purposes...

Best trading platform for IB excluding TWS

@qlai - You can use a 3rd party platform for connecting to both IB and TD Ameritrade datafeed. no need to use TOS. @Zohaibmajeed - As @Grulstmarnn mentioned, Medved Trader would not be able to get true tick data from IB datafeed, however you could use IB for execution while using a different...
