    Commission Structure

Oh ok you must be using someone like Gelber or GNI. I have seen those .20/side + fees for large vols. I was confused because I saw you reference something to do with being a professional trader which made me think of the typical "prop" firms like Bright .

    Commission Structure

metooxx, I see from that previous thread that you pay $2.64 r/t. Do you actually have to become an employee/ owner of the clearing firm to get this rate? or are you leasing a seat? if so is the leasing fee built in to $2.64? What kind of mimum numbers justify that kind of setup in your...

    Commission Structure

I think it gets confusing because alot of brokers try to pass fees for using JTrader or another ISV as "clearing " fees. Kudos to you Craig for shining a light on these fees. I think the futures brokers that move towards publishing their fee schedules on their websites will benefit the...

    IB's Canadian Registration..............

I think if you look at bylaw 35 you'll see reference to foreign affiliates. Assuming IB Canada cleared through their foreign affiliate they would be considered the Introducing Broker and the Foreign Affiliate the Clearing Broker. There is some mention of an exemption to allow a Foreign...

    IB's Canadian Registration..............

We are currently negotiating with the IDA with respect to certain items that IDA requires for us to be properly registered to conduct customer business in Canada. We are hopeful that these negotiations will come to a favorable conclusion in the next few weeks, and that we will thereupon be...

def censored...that sucks ..post your opinion

I disagree. Within the community posting as well as marketing messages/advertising compliment one another. Personally I don't understand why IB doesn't advertise because I think it would lead to only more biz. But perhaps they have some good reasons for not advertising.

There's something really amusing about the owner of a message board asking people to phone him for discussions.

I think you are being shortsighted. At the current rate of growth in membership you will have tons of advertisers in a 6 mths to a year. Killing the golden goose now is a mistake I believe you will regret. Albeit it's your mistake to make;)

"So for those who are mad, you can now go ahead and start bashing me. :) " I have no problem with vendor representatives posting here. It's when they hype without substance that it is annoying. Def never hyped..imho. "We don't allow brokers to carry on customer relations (sales...

    Direct Access Shakeout

If you notice most of these don't have office traders in various locations..just online remote traders. I think you'll see alot if not most retail direct access firms with in-house traders close their offices. I just read on another thread that Protrader closed a couple of offices. Most...

    Refco... are they good?

Yes between Man and Refco they own a big chunk of the clearing. But if you are looking for the best commission deals look elsewhere. I've notice firms clearing through Rosenthal Collins are far more flexible(Elocal, Apex, JPFutures, etc.), So are GNI and Gelber(on big volume), and of course IB.
