I do believe that those CBOT open interest reports are delayed a week, and "open interest" includes both longs and shorts. I tend to take them with a grain of salt, no pun intended.

Why would you need any more leverage than what is available as a pure Retail trader in futures? If you are looking for a desk to trade your own capital, that is not considered a "Prop" firm.

Miss Savant, Why can't I be on opposite sides in a Futures instrument? I trade several strategies, and have several accounts. I have crossed with myself on various occasions. Why can't I close a Short in one account going long in another simultaneously? What rule is that breaking?

You forgot about shorting without borrowing the stock! How about "creating" a plus tick as well. While I am here, crossing stock without a beneficial change of ownership for various reasons. (Painting the tape)

YOU get paid if you offer and get taken, or BID and get hit PERIOD, nothing more nothing less. It's really not that complicated!

It has essentially dried out. To the OP, you only get paid when you ADD liquidity, so if you get hit on the bid, or taken on the offer you get a "Rebate", you have to be a little better than the average monkey trading, to break even doing this. There is Capital risk BTW! Anybody I know that...
