    Catching a falling knife....

Its nice to see some people on here putting in some hard work and finding out the best way to make money in the markets using probabilities. Just a little advice, usually when buying in an exhaustion zone you will notice you get a lot of sideways action, washing out lows and definately retests...

leading Indicators, in before everyone else

All correlations and relationships between indices and sectors eventually fail or will go out of sync for so long that noone would even think about sitting through a 2 year massive drawdown. You can use them as small edges, but I personally would never give them more then a 5% weighting on a...

Will the markets sell off after November 7, 2006?

If your going to try to call a top on this election thing make sure you trade reduced size and a tight tight stop. I have seen a lot of very successful traders and CTA's blow out this past month for not following their risk parameters because of the psychology of not accepting a loss.

    SPX weekly prediction

I just thought I would post my two predictions for the S&P cash. Doesnt mean I am going to trade this blindly, just a thorough anaylsis I do every week and will look for confirmation on lower time frames. My only contigency is if this thing breaks through both zones like a freight train then I...

    Forex vs. Other Markets

Forex has a lot of sharks and fakeouts. So if you are a breakout trader I recommend you dont trade forex. Actually, if you are a breakout trader I recommend you do some more research and change your strategy entirely. If your going to trade forex, make sure to stay with the trend.

    Scalping

Typically 2-3 units of 15-25 cts each depending on setup. I scale in on different ticks. So usually a couple ticks on entry and exit all said and done.

    Scalping

Yes, you can be a market maker with Xtrader Pro, but I use ninja. I definately need a superior connection only if I am trading 5-7 trades a day. Lets see you scale in 100 ER2 with a 6 tick stop on an IB platform and not be worried....

    Scalping

Medianline.com I think thats the site. Anyways, the median site by tim gives out a lot of free information that can be helpful with analysis. Unfortunately, I dont want to give out to much info to jeopardize my returns. I definately recommend doing some screen time with PRACTICAL elliot wave...

    Scalping

I do about an average of 5- 10 trades a day on the min russel with good size. But I also trade 5 other futures markets, so I need the good execution. TT is the best in the business, combine that with a seat and a direct feed to the exchange and your at the top. I suggest starting with...

    Scalping

I am using Ninja with with TT but with a direct FIX adapter to Chicago. Cost is about $1500 a month for just the feed, but well worth it. If you are serious about scalping, go with this or zenfire.

TA - same on different timeframes?

I got one word for you all.... Fractals 1 minute chart is the exact same thing as a daily or monthly. It doesn't matter what timeframe for MA's etc. Its all the same.

    Scalping

To be honest, scalping futures consistently is probably the hardest thing to do trading wise. It also offers the best lifestyle IMO, so it makes sense that you are always trading against very smart and well seasoned traders. I would not start with any less than 25,000 because you need to stay...

    Transitioning to big size

I hear you on this one... Its very hard to make transitions like this. I know this sounds cheesy, but it has helped me to not trade money, but trade poker chips. For example, I trade in units so one chip equals one unit. This way I am not trading money and it helps with the emotional aspect.

    Scalping

If your gonna scalp you are going to need some of the best software and data feeds to compete with people like me. I suggest you simulate with xtrader or ninjatrader and get your feet wet. Do a bunch of trades and find out how much commissions are going to eat you up and what kind of R:R you...

Keep going with this buddy... your uncovering a gold mine... put in the screen time and you will figure out how it works.

    R:R 1:1

1:1 is not bad if you have over 75% winners over tons and tons of trades. You also have to factor in slippage and commissions which eat up most scalpers, especially on the futs. The truth is that most people would kill for a performace record like that. I stopped trading the ES because I...

    Averaging down is addictive

I look at my second entry as an add on not an average down to a losing trade. Basically, it trades to my zone so I get most on but when it busts to my add on range I know I am getting the best bang for my buck. So i can double up with a very tight stop and get the best risk for reward. You...

    Averaging down is addictive

If you can trade the right levels then your add on can be very precise and calculated. You will know when you are wrong. Just always have a stop placed when you place the trade if your an emotional trader. 9 times out of 10 I can get out most at BE with an add on and then hold for a small...

    S/R Emini Journal

It was actually 755.50 and add on at 756.50 with a 2pt stop. Was a great trade and the zone held for most of the day until the breakout. I usually dont try to call tops thats why I put a tight stop on it and reversed after I was stopped out and let my runners go. It was 25-1 risk reward with...
