    ER2 Leading Indicators?

Thank you for the long reply, Macro. Since you go for ~7 ticks per trade "only", are you watching the 1 minute TICK ? Thanks again. Marsupilami

    ER2 Leading Indicators?

Hello Macro, when using the TICK, do you enter the market once a predefined TICK level has been reached ? I haven't paid attention to the TICK so far but will watch it the next few days. With the ER2 being so jumpy and fast, I really need to fine tune my entries. :D Oh, btw., when trading...

    FOREX VS. Index Futures

Leverage: in Forex, I'd say that anything above 10x is too hot. Currencies can move very drastically and extremely fast. I have already blown up several forex accounts (papertrading) when trying to scalp with a leverage of 50. You just have to get stopped out a few times right after you've...

Trading KOSPI option contract just like a futures contract

Hi Awash, I think I'm actually using the same software, just through a different broker (Cheil Futures). It's for the same reasons (i.e. language) that I haven't explored every feature of the platform yet. However, I am waiting for IB to introduce the KOSPI since misunderstandings due to...

Trading KOSPI option contract just like a futures contract

Awash, do you use EZ futures ? I recognized their logo on the window screen. How do you like their service and their software ? Thanks Marsupilami

Trading KOSPI option contract just like a futures contract

The contract value is ~71000 USD per futures contract. At present, Korean brokers require an initial margin of 15%.... so let's say 11000 USD. Actually, I'm watching it again right now...Jesus Christ, this is like Dax or HSI leveraged, superliquid and on fast forward !!! Those Korean traders...

Trading KOSPI option contract just like a futures contract

Koreans are so lucky, they aren't even taxed on their trading profits. Can it get any better than this ? How is the situation like in Singapore ?

Trading KOSPI option contract just like a futures contract

Hi Jonny, the volume of the KOSPI futures contract (expiring in Dec. 05 ) was 215.986 contracts on 10/20/05. The spread is 0.05 points. This is the info I get from my demo program, so I hope this is correct. I stayed up the whole night yesterday/today to monitor the session...smashing is...

    IB futures trading...

Ouch, that doesn't sound too good, I thought that differences /premiums were only marginal,i.e. comparable to INDU/YM SPX/ES etc...

Trading KOSPI option contract just like a futures contract

Hope it works, it's from Yahoo. Regarding the trading craze in Korea...I heard about that, too. On Korean tv, lessons in technical analysis are supposed to be as normal as the weather news in theUS/Europe... You may want to read the following article...

    IB futures trading...

...or maybe i shouldn't. The options and futures charts for the last trading session , i.e. 10/18/05, are totally out of sync with the underlying index I check on Yahoo every day...so either my software is showing me wrong data or I really underestimated the influence of volatility on intraday...

    IB futures trading...

Have been doing the same thing for a month now, papertrading the options on a demo version provided by "Cheil Futures". People there have been very helpful. Maybe I should wire a few bucks to Korea and just give it a shot. Before, I'll have to find a data vendor though...

Any prop firms operating in China ?

http://www.hlvcapitalasia.com/ Since their website is in Chinese, I don't know wether they also offer trading in the Chinese market.... Greetings, Marsupilami

    IB futures trading...

Given the current margin requirements for the KOSPI future, one can quickly lose interest in trading it, despite the superb volatility...however, I look to this market not because of the futures, but because of the options. Have you ever taken a close look at them ? Spreads are just one tick...

    Asia Pacific

Joesan, I agree with you, the KOSPI to me is THE index to trade in the Asian region. I'm surprised that it is almost unknown by most traders. Have you already checked for brokers other than IB ? I have a list of dozens of Korean brokers, however, I'd rather stick with a Singapore/HK based...

    Singapore set-ups

Thank you all for the replies. Actually, my main interested is trading futures and options on the Korean KOSPI. Refco would give me access to this market...and Fimat. However, Fimat doesn't seem to be interested in dealing with me, pretty arrogant company, it seems. They don't know what they're...

    Singapore set-ups

@TheStudent: can you recommend a good broker in Singapore ? I've contacted Refco Singapore but find their platform -if you can call it that, it's just browser based - to be a pain in the neck. They don't offer anything better. Regards, Marsupilami
