ArchAngel, I hope so. But often I had just the feeling the system does not like my orders, you know, I had a limit order to buy at 982.25, 1 min later the market goes down there, the bid is now 2.25, bid size 500, 400, 300, locals pull their order, 200, 100, now trading 2.25, bid size...

...but still, the futures are favourable over online FX. The trading cost is lower and there is far more transparency. Also, the MM cannot play dirty tricks on you, like bidding 2 pips lower when he realizes you want to get out of your long --- AND YES ! they do this !

Also, be aware that MMs will pull their quotes during fast markets ! Your stop order could then fall into a hole. This is not the normal circumstance, but may happen, e.g. due to important econ. news (Japan) or some kind of terrorist attack etc...

I have another question regarding the FIFO que : Is it somehow possible for a market participant to enter an order with a better position in the FIFO que. than it would normally have due to the entry time ?

Market Makers are there for you overnight. At Globex EUR/USD there are about 3 competing MMs. You will get a 3 pip spread in the worst case. There will be always 50 contracts waiting for you at bid or offer.

I am unsure about this issue. On my tick-charts there is also only thin volume, but it can well be that this is a market data issue. A/C/E, which is build in conjunction with EUREX technology, maybe, does not send out full streaming tick data. EUREX has invented this dumb 2 second snapshot...

Yes, I have, but only a little bit, since I am not to deep in FX market. What do you want to know ? Order routing, is fast, the order goes "green" after 1/2 second, so it should take only 250 msec until it arrives @ globex. Only disadvantage: spreads get wide short before econ. news...
