POLL: IB TWS vs J-TRADER, Which is more "Reliable"?

they blame the whole world except their own selves. it's your machine, it's your cpu, it's your internet connection.. man, eSignal and TWS work fine, and JTrader doesn't, on the same machine with the same ram, cpu, and inet connection. one should read the writing on the wall...

POLL: IB TWS vs J-TRADER, Which is more "Reliable"?

Nana Trader, You can try them for free.. will help you evaluate both functionality and reliability. http://www.gfetc.com/platforms/index.html That I am not pleased with them does not mean that other traders won't like them.

POLL: IB TWS vs J-TRADER, Which is more "Reliable"?

btw another potential issue with jtrader. if you have sun java installed on your system (required to use IB), jtrader will work extremely slow. you will have to uninstall the Sun Java. Alternatively you can use the stand alone version of jtrader, which is not slow, except that version is out...

POLL: IB TWS vs J-TRADER, Which is more "Reliable"?

PuffyGums, I was referring to JTrader not to TWS. I don't get any unusual disconnects with IB or eSignal. Put it another way: JTrader disconnects when IB and eSignal keep working fine. Just my experience.. not trying to bash any software or broker. PS - it is statistically logical...

I use j-trader as a backup. the price feed connection is lost about 20 times a day, every single day, without exception. you may still be able to place trades though, i never tried, i use it as a backup, as mentioned.

    Tradestation is $113 per month

If you are an harmonic trader (fibs, ganns, gartleys and so on) then check out Ensign software, they specialize in that. They claim to combine data feeds with IB and their own backfills, and therefore provide a real time data for the mare fee of IB quotes ($10/mo.). The software itself costs...

    Esignal experience at Prop firm

danjos, if you are scrolling down on the tos window (to see past transactions), make sure you scroll all the way back to the top when you are finished. because the tos flow halts once you start scrolling, and resumes only when you go back to the top. Not sure this helps you, but if it...

Just starting to have a look at the european futures (dax, cac, estx50, ftse). Which data feed and brokerage are you guys using? Are you using eSignal and IB? Are there any other? Is the eSignal european feed timely and reliable (for eurex, liffe)? How about the IB feed and executions...

eSignal: Help please w/ European futures

Is there a continuous contract display for European futures in eSignal? For example I tried LX #F-LF (for FTSE100) but it says "No data". While LX H4-LF does work, but doesn't go back much on the daily chart. Thanks 50
