Q Charts just increased their monthly fee

To be fair, maybe all charting services have to increase their fees for realtime access? I would have gladly payed for Qcharts if they didn't market to the newbie. That coupled with crap servers = useless data for the pros.

    Bond Futures

Hey thanks Eric.. that helps me a lot.. Not sure of the logic, versus time and sales.. It doesn't seem as transparent as the ES. Thanks again though.

    Bond Futures

Has anyone noticed block trades that get done in this fashion, 300, 358,500, 700, 1003, 1194.. etc. Are these trades done on the floor? Who is taking the other side of these trades?? Is this in conjunction with T-auctions? So many questions.. lol These types of trades always throw me off...

    $200/day/contract trading emin500..is that good?

Interesting system.. looking fwd to some charts. Thank you for sharing your system. Too many people are reluctant to do this. Whether it works or not.. Good luck to you.

    S&p Up 12pts

They caught Saddam.. nobody feared him and the market reflects that. The rise in the S&P's is merely because a pro-buiness republican president will probably now maintain power. This is an election move, not a saddam move. If you want a real gap, look for the capture of bin laden. While this...

Not sure which thread to post..

but lets face it, the american public ain't the smartest. Saddam's capture is great for the bulls.. but not because we now live in a safer world. Remember, there were no mass weapons of destruction ever found. And i think for the most part, the majority of people (including non-americans)...

    How much did you lose....

Honestly, i don't think you can be more wrong. Most traders have no other options but to pursue trading. Often these daytrading companies snag them out of college with the dreams of being a real trader. They use words like internship, or having an alternative to a formal classroom education by...

    How much did you lose....

Made roughly a 1.1m during the dot-coms & lost most of it. Learned how to trade.. and just passed the 600k mark slowly (1k is a good day). So from the height to the lows.. lost around 800k. Still not fully recovered.. but more confident than ever.

How relevant is market depth in e-minis

Well the real question is do you look at market depth on Nasdaq or NYSE traded stocks? Or do you find the manipulations on size make it a useless indicator.

    Book recommendations for futures trader

Try non-trading books or other methods of relaxation. Clearing the mind through seperation often brings better results than any book can give you.

IB Interruption Performance for the two weeks ending 26th Dec 2003.

Def you have been an asset to me and IB. But i don't understand why you threatened not to post b/c of Dig's thread? Why would you stoop to that level? The fact is IB has NOT always been reliable, but YOU have been. Whether this thread means anything at all.. well i have seen worse threads. But...

    Beta Index Futures

Hmm, very interesting idea Tea! I think many firms would benefit from it. I would say suggest the idea to the exchanges.. but of course i have no idea how to. Also, they would probably take credit for your idea   This type of thinking makes me come back to ET despite the "take your...

    Plunge Protection Team or not?

this is an interesting thread.. Does the Fed buy futures or stocks.. Give me a break. Not a chance in hell. BUT.. other govs which don't have strict controls probably do. For instance, I am positive that some of the major companies in Mexico have a helping hand for a bribe.

    Trouble again: Quote.com

lol.. Qcharts. Left them a while ago. Wanted to step up my game, and realized that was my weak link. Not promoting anyone else, just saying i am much happier on a day like this.

Fund Gambles on 20-Year-Old Stock Picker

I wouldn't mind giving some of my money to this kid. Obviously, he is doing something right to rack up gains. The botton line is to make money. A proven track record like other mutual funds may have certainly doesn't mean jack in the the future.

Full documentation of my streak of 44 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better

Its funny how i just read an article posted by an ET member about hedge fund manager Simons. And how successful people tend to shun the spotlight. Makes me wonder about people like Mr Market who would kill for any type of attention that he links his own Yahoo posts on a message board like ET...

    Good article.

I have to agree. Great article!! I really have never heard of this guy before. I wonder if he is recognized on one of those "rich lists" forbers or fortune puts out.

Will we see an exodus of traders into Futures ?

I would highly suggest playing Texas Hold em Poker before you touch futures. At least you can blame them on the cards then. I am sure there are successful futures traders, but there a lot more profitable poker players. Another words, play poker.. at least you will have a shot. They are both...

    bullets getting shot

I am sure some daytrading companies will still figure out a way to still do it.. Its just too vital for money makers in the business.

How much should a "good" trader earn?

Dunno.. considering 50-90% of traders lose money, gaining 50k on 10 mil is not so bad. Green is good..........
