When Bernanke speaks he reminds me

Wow.. How can the "second most person in the world" not able to speak in public? Are you kidding me? This might not be an issue for some people, but it is very obvious.

    Paul Tudor Jones---trader--- Rare!

His lawyers are not someone I would want to mess around with.. One phone call from him could make your life a living hell. Even if you are in the right, you will lose just trying to protect your "rights." And all for just 250 bucks.

Official DD thread - Big Dow

Exactly.. it seems like they set up some market making program so the spreads are exactly one tick WIDER than the bid AND offer on the YM. There simply is no incentive to trade the DD. I wouldn't even place limit orders due to the greater risk of a fill versus the YM.

    buenos aires

I was there a few years ago.. There was a club that was called BA News which was one of the most famous in the city. They had the most beautiful girls I have ever seen in the world all clustered in one place. (And most were very approachable.) I was just reading on tripadvisor that the club has...

    Spike in ZN

Whether he was covering or initiating a new position is not the point. If you go back on the charts, there was no reason to send a market order TO BUY instead of working the order to achieve the best possible price. He unnecessarily panicked and got the worst possible price for his order. He...

    Spike in ZN

wow, if you add all those up, its 10,000 contracts. I guess it doesn't take that much to be a trader at an institution these days. He probably costed his bosses around 100 thousand dollars cause of his sloppiness. I guess thats chump change nowadays.

    Spike in ZN

You probably mean June. Its wasn't a crazy spike. Was just wondering if some piece of news came out at that moment. It looks like someone just put in a market order for about 10k contracts instead of working the order. I only noticed it cause I happen to be short at the time.

    Spike in ZN

Anyone notice that spike around 11:11 am today? Going back on the T&S it looks like someone fat fingered a buy of approx 10,000 contracts at the mkt. (of course i was short at the time)

Chicago Mercantile Exchange seeks IPO this year

Its funny to read some of the previous threads concerning the ipo of the CME. Sometimes it pays not to be a daytrader. Current price: 478

Official DD thread - Big Dow

Great point Pabst. The has been a failed attempt to attract big money from hedge funds and the like. Its much easier to hedge a 100 million portfolio in the ES rather than a retail contract like the YM. Now that the CBOT is public, they should be a little bit more aggressive in cleaning up this...

Anyone know how much IB will be charging for the Big Dow? Assuming it will be the same price of the mini dow but can't find anything on their website.

    eSignal 8.0, 8.1 & QCharts

Chuck, I just want to thank you for keeping us up-to-date. Just like AAA said, we like how Qcharts is designed, and upgrades concerning the quality of data would be welcomed by all. I don't plan on changing simply because managment changed. FYI, I belive this product is a gold mine that...

Do you think NYSE/nasdaq proposed 2 hour extension is dumb or smart?

I would figure an 8:30 open would create more havoc since econ numbers tend to come out at 8:30. How can a specialist maintain orderly flow when index futures are so volatile exactly at 8:30. Something tells me there will be numerous delayed openings with the specialist taking advantage of the...
