YM more volatile now it's on Globex?

My thinking is that many of the automated trading systems that the quant guys used are programmed for Globex. YM has essentially been a non-factor for the hedge funds due to lack of liquidity. The vol bump and the increased noise I think has very little to do with how many levels you can see...

YM more volatile now it's on Globex?

I am the first one to say "duh, its market conditions" but I have def noticed its far more volatile on Globex. Going from point A to point B is no longer that smooth. It might go from point A to point B and back to Point A several times within seconds before going to the next level.

who else is buying here thinking we get pop toward the close?

Market is too strong overall.. Prob would vote for bargain buyers coming in. Fed could cut at any moment.

    urgent help...in choosing a laptop

I know this is a bit pricier of an option, but try the sony sz series. I am sure you can find something on ebay with XP still on it. The visibility on their screens is very good in all conditions.

    www.elitetrader.com is worth...

Don, stocktrades.com went for about 25,000 (minus commissions) Are you sure you were "offered way over" a million dollars? Or is this a little stretch of the truth.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PQ8e4972lE

Google rolls out its Facebook killer

Aren't they already in the social arena with Orkut? Granted it was a colossal failure and for some reason only attracts Brazilians. The larger they become, the more they will become like Microsoft or any other behemoth. Essentially using their paper to grow through acquistions rather than...

    massive MSFT earnings

This might be insanely stupid, but going to move my google investment into MSFT. Looks like a breakout and might give me similar returns to GOOG with a lower risk. Or at least buy the calls.

    Timothy Sykes News

Tim, I have nothing against you. The fact that you are so persistant just means you will eventually reach your goals.. whatever they may be. The problem that I have with you, is not that you are self-promoting. (Donald Trump is a master of self-promotion.. and well far richer than everyone...

No Such Thing As A Down Equities Market

As a trader never, ever go against the trend.. That being said, if we do go green, it will goto 15000 without a problem. I could just see the headlines over the weekend. But I certainly wouldn't take a position unless we recover.

What's the eSignal symbol for euro futures?

How about the symbol for the dax/stoxx 50? I actually use Qcharts but assume its the same symbols. Thanks in advance.

    why there is sudden down?

The thing is that there are a ton of hedge funds who already have puts to hedge them in a downturn.. Usually, you need an atmosphere where nobody is mentioning the word crash. Just feel like if we go green today, a lot of shorts could be in trouble.

Trading software is it worth it?

I am a strong believer in Qcharts which Esignal bought. Their charts are unmatched (far better than CQG in my opinion) and their reliability has been pretty damn solid ever since Esignal bought them.

Questions arise about Goldman's blowout quarter

Ugh.. I am totally against a crash in the market of any type.. But the thought of Goldman inflating numbers doesn't bode well in general. I certainly wouldn't sell it right now, but on any rise in GS (or the banks in general), def lighten up. Just my 2 cents
