Traders Rush to Stock-Options Bets on Tesla and Amazon

This is why the large Wall Street banks have nice earnings. Their traders get nice bonus too. So some of those retail traders make 20% and give 10% to the banks, those retail traders still earn something. But they will lose big when the markets tank.

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

So you want OP to withdraw $5,000 a month after he deposit his $50,000? He has to build up his capital and let compounding work to his favor.

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

I think a lot people missed the essence of the entire thread. OP's question is: Is $50k enough to set up a trading account and earn a full time living. OP never asked that we have 100% or 200% return each year or every year. So as long as you do not lose your shirt, you grow your capital...

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

Traders fail because they have no edge, worse if no discipline and blow up.... That is clear to everyone. But that is not everyone.

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

We all know this is ET, period. For the people who read ET, we are not ordinary people who want to earn 10% each year. That is investment. We want 20%, 50%, 100% or more. Of course a lot people take over-sized risk and can't control the risk. That is blow-up. With hindsight, MRNA has YTD...

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

No sir, compounding is the basic principle of finance. Students are taught at middle school or earlier. There is no absolute distinction of trading vs investing. If I hold 100 MSFT shares for 3-5 days, it can be either investing or trading. And if I have 100% return on my $50,000, I get a...

Compounding is only best for investing? First time I've heard anything like this. :D

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

A very important thing for people to remember is the compounding. Some traders start with $50,000 or even less. After they double it to $100,000 in a year or less, you get $100,000 to trade with. If you or they are successful, you can continue to grow exponentially. This is how some...

    Crude Oil 2021-Q4

It appears the December contract rolling has been underway. The news is not on the side of bull camp. With OPEC+ aggressively jack up the prices and rebuffed calls to increase production, it forces China, India and Japan to tap their petro reserves for this winter. Both China and India have...

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

Any successful trader should be above the crowd. Some may have 10 up years in a row. Some may have 3-4 down years over 10 years. All very common. But you just can't say it is impossible just based on your own experience. If you are making single digit in this market, then you are not doing...

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

This is completely not true. There are certain market and certain instruments that you can hold and do not use margin. I've done so. 200%+ is certainly possible and there is no blow-up risk if not trading on margins.

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

Actually the answer is this is possible, but need some work. I get another of my accounts at Merrill. Just stocks and ETFs. No futures. Started with $38k, YTD gain of $73k. 211% YTD return. No crypto, no MEME stocks. In this age, a lot of other "investors" want us to take their money. I...

What sticky note have you on your monitor?

I have two stickers. None of them are females, unfortunately. One is a list of my account login IDs. I have several and I do not want to get in my Outlook to check them. Another note is "stop loss". Risk management is the king of trading.

Is 50,000$ Enough to set up a trading account to earn a full time living?

One of my accounts started with $45,000 capital, mainly from mid of the year. Now it is $110,000. $65k earning. I trade both stocks and futures. Still I do not think $65k is enough for a full time living. And I do take calculated risks. My pressure is low since I have other accounts too...

Good Day To Buy Some Bank Stocks

Yes. The XLF and FAS have not moved much at all with the higher interest rates. With the negative net income, the future is dim. We still do not earn enough to fend of the high inflation.

Almost nobody likes 24 hour trading. We all need some breaks.
