Steve that satisfies me -- so why are your reps saying management decided not to offer it? Queued is fine.....never is bad. I can understand not offering the pits....why spend money offering them when they're going away anyway?

Then NYMEX should put some market makers on their softs to get some trading going. I don't care who I trade with, I want to lose money trading softs!!! :D

I should add I'm looking into other brokers such as openecry. Not sure if they have NYBOT softs on ICE, but if they do I'll move some of my money over there. Shame on IB for this fiasco.....can it really be that difficult to add new contracts on an exchange you already have access to? I can...

They told me they didn't do it to inconvenience their customers. But I can't come up with a better reason.....smacks of office politics -- some pointy haired loser sitting in his management chair saying "hey, we already offer this on NYMEX". Someone else says "but they trade 3-4...

RAID 1 is fine unless you have a huge power spike (and discover the hard way that your UPS/surge protector doesn't work), a fire, or a pipe bursts and fries your PC. For offsite backups I use mozy, I previously used systemrecovery.com but then I had a problem connecting to their server...

I misunderstood what he was saying -- I thought he meant the actual trading of NYBOT on ICE -- not the implementation by IB. IB is usually good about this stuff....they refused to do NYBOT because they said they'd wait for the electronic versions....now they're here and they won't provide...

I didn't claim you need an LLC -- just that I think with it the 2% rule effectively goes bye bye. I have no idea about a sole prop -- I'll defer to you/Green/anyone with a clue. I didn't know Green had a forum -- I'll have to check that out.

The original post said NYBOT -- probably not. It was referring to NYBOT pits. This is crappy news about ICE ... I re-opened my ticket I at least want to know why they won't offer an electronic product when they have those crappy NYMEX softs available......

I only had about 25 option trades last year, the rest are all futures which are only a single line item, so I won't use it. I probably would use it if I had stock trades that required it -- putting them into quicken and then turbotax is just too cumbersome....

Dude you need to read the (not so) fine print: Request: Strongly suggest NYBOT and ICE contracts to be added to the product list. IB Comments: NYBOT probably not. If NYBOT links up to a larger exchange then we will offer their products. ICE is already available (under exchange name IPE)...

Do you mean the pit or on ICE? IB said they plan to have NYBOT softs on ICE by the end of Feb 2007. No plan for the pits though -- why go there and get robbed?

IB has historical options bid/ask data for contracts currently trading but they remove it once the options expire.
