No it works fast when everything's closed ... so that's not good news. Yet I know there have been times in the past when it wasn't this slow even with all the charts open. It seems like it's gotten progressively worse the more HD space gets used up. But like I said, only about 10% of it is used...

Everyone knows he's a commodities bull ... in all the interviews I've seen of him, I don't think I've ever once heard him mention an individual commodities stock or any other individual name for that matter. Maybe he plays ETFs only, I don't know, or maybe he just doesn't like to be pinned down...

I heard him state in a recent interview that commodities should recover first, and that that is the only place you can make any real money in the next few years. Could have just been talking his book, but I wouldn't necessarily bet against him.

I don't like IB's futures margins even though I trade pretty conservatively for my account size anyway. But I stay with them because I believe my account is safer there than it would be with one of the smaller firms such as Global or Velocity. Anybody feel they have a broker that's safer...

I trade very little with them, but do a few swing/position trades now and then. Their commissions are way too high for daytrading. To me they are basically a broker to invest through, not trade.

My problem with that is I need the "above $100k" amount in margin to successfully implement the strategies I use in daytrading. Could buy the ETF's for overnight protection I suppose, but that seems like alot of churn/commissions. edit: "need" .... read "prefer"
