With >24 hrs to go before a possible big surprise I would think they'd use this time to grind it down to bargain basement prices. Although that may be still to come, as personally I think the HOD could be in.

I find sometimes ES leads and sometimes SPX does. Each chart can give clues to the other's "intentions". fwiw, the ES TL touch was made in RTH, but I know what you're saying. It all may be moot shortly if this little upward drift continues. :)

After hitting this TL ES is very bearish if it holds below it today imho.

Gap fill and counter-trend channel top were the 2 reasons I saw (despite SPY/SPX gap filling much earlier), but others may have better info.
