Pound Could Collapse Within Weeks, Predicts Billionaire Financier Jim Rogers

Right, the BOE isn't printing money, never purchased any bonds, never lowered rates and the UK government isn't on the hook for half of their banking system. All this never happened! Keep living in fairy tale land.

Pound Could Collapse Within Weeks, Predicts Billionaire Financier Jim Rogers

Stanzione sounds like a snake-oil salesman and scammer. Sad to see Rogers associates himself with a guy like that: <param name="allowFullScreen"...

    Is GOLD (/silver/etc) a bubble?

That's amazing. Sounds like one of those "too good to be true" risk/reward scenarios. Unlimited upside with limited downside. COUNT ME IN!!!!!

Never add to a losing position?

I remember his thread, I don't recall him post about such disastrous losses though. Do you have a link to a post by him? Or what other info are you basing the above on?

Never add to a losing position?

When adding to losers, every once in a while, conviction turns into desperation

    Paving the road for Inflation

Who says they will be successful? The Japanese have been trying to create inflation for 20 years with not much to show for.

Need some help with first trend-following system

Where are you getting this myth from? Some of the world's biggest, most successful traders operate with win % ratios well below 45%.

    Is GOLD (/silver/etc) a bubble?

So what do you do if the market suddenly doesn't agree with what your "4 factor" model is saying? What if it drops 30, 40%, 50% even though all signals scream buy? Buy more? Sell all? Wait and see? Panic? I assume most "level headed gold investors" look to add on weakness (buy low hoping to...

    Is GOLD (/silver/etc) a bubble?

You confuse hindsight bias with edge.

    Is GOLD (/silver/etc) a bubble?

What does it matter if they're a bubble or not? Both could easily rally or tank 50%+ from here, bubble or not. I find these discussions completely worthless (in order to try to gain an edge to make money trading a market).

    Matt Taibi again

Taibi reads too much Zerohedge. All this conspiracy nonsense makes a great read and generates clicks and magazine sales, but has very little real world relevance for a trader. Markets and politicians have been corrupt and manipulated from day 0. What does this matter? Does it make anyone a...

Collapse of the euro is 'inevitable' says French Banking Chief

If your theory was correct, then why have labor productivity in Club Med been going DOWN instead of converging with Germany? According to the "wage self-adjustment" hypothesis hourly salaries would have been going down in real terms in Spain and Greece over the last 10 years. The opposite is the...

Collapse of the euro is 'inevitable' says French Banking Chief

The discussion was about labor productivity/export competitiveness, not about bond holders. A bond default won't make Greek labor more efficient nor more competitive on global export markets. If they still had the Drachma the "problem" would take care of itself, possibly very quickly. We'll...

Collapse of the euro is 'inevitable' says French Banking Chief

Where do you want to get treated for cancer? In Estonia, the Czech republic? Or in the UK? Specifically, in Eastern Europe it is typical to "tip" the nurses and doctors (in cash) before you get any major treatment. Tips start at around 50 EUR (which is a big deal if one makes 500 EUR a...

    Say goodbye to the Euro

IMO it's quite telling that the gloom and doom over the Dollar were NEVER higher in the last 20 years than in these last 24 months. The collapse was always right around the corner according to the bears and was just a question of time. The "USD was done", the "empire has fallen" and we were...

Swiss politician threatens to disclose top German tax cheats

There is a wave of panic among German tax dodgers. There are lineups reported at tax lawyers offices of people trying to get consulted on how to turn themselves in. German law guarantees tax dodgers who turn themselves in and pay all taxes plus interest to remain without a jail term
