    Street Insight & Doug Kass

Well, since going bullish more than 40 points ago in the S&P, what do you know, Doug Kass has increased his long exposure from 100% to 110%. I bet the market will make him sweat a little before the big return, if there is one.

    Street Insight & Doug Kass

You're right. They do have a free trial. I must not have scrolled down to the very last line of their 4 pages of fluff. Anyways, I'm free trialing it, and it'll be interesting to see how Doug Kass is talking the market since the recent break of support. I'll post here if anyones interested.

    Street Insight & Doug Kass

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you don't subscribe to thestreet.com to get the full articles. Rev's been pretty spot on which is just like his style. He spots trends and hops on. Even with the slow trickle down in the indices, there have been no trends within individual equities...

    Street Insight & Doug Kass

Anyone here subscribe to Street Insight, the "pro" version of thestreet.com's subscription? It's pricey at $2k a year. I subscribed last year and found it to be helpful but not that helpful. It's got great coverage of conference calls and various private hedge fund managers. Anyways...

    intraday TRIN alert...

If you got an alert on a +3 and rising, check out today. We just hit +6. I've pulled up a max TRIN chart on yahoo and I can't even see that we've closed over +4 any time before. This is some dismal and abysmal action out there...

To War, or not to War???

It would be interested to see the geopolitical stances of traders on this board, and if it is slanted in any way compared to the general public due to our profession. Give your reasons as well if you want, it would make for great debate on dull trading days...

    I'm a buyer friday

If you could rid the world of a psychotic despot and WMD's, give more freedoms to those shackled by their government, strike a blow to global terrorist groups, take a step closer to making peace between Isreal & Palestine, AND benefit from the oil in the region... ...You would be a Freaking...

    VXGN On Monday

VXGN tried to spin the news positive but most statisticians think all they did was data pick to avoid what was an obvious failure. On top of that, VXGN failed to pick up 2 government smallpox contracts today. This stock now has literally nothing going for it, and its cash value of $1-2 will...

    War

The only thing China has over us militarily is manpower because of their da*n overpopulation. We spend 10x as much on our defense and our technology and intelligence are vastly superior. How exactly are we second rate?

    War

Anticipating this "war rally", all that comes to mind is that the market can stay irrational far longer than you have liquidity. Buy in now, and the "war rally" can start from much lower levels, maybe even significantly below the Oct low, so that you finally end up breaking even at best. So...

Are you guys prepared for this bear market +5 years?

Enough with the "there are opportunities, etc etc." Duh. Have you capitalized on the opportunities since this bear market began? Easier said than done, and hindsites always 20/20. Fact is. Many of the people here wont be trading in a few years, I'm no exception to that possibility.

    2002 return in absolute $$$ ?

Some not too shabby returns as far as % in the last poll. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=178825&highlight=2002+return+poll#post178825 But since this is how we make a living and we don't compare ourselves to benchmarks, its dollars that matter. It's anonymous so...

Are you guys prepared for this bear market +5 years?

This bear market could go on for another 5 years and then some... So are we prepared for that? You guys think its hard now, imagine grinding it out for another 5-10 years like this with subpar returns maybe even losses, with no bull market in sight to save us. Granted that there will be...

    Futures considered capital gains?

I just started trading the e-mini S&P and NDX and understand the 60/40 tax rule and that futures need to be reported on another form. However, are futures considered capital gains in the end such that they can offset gains/losses you have with stocks and options? TIA

The toughest trading year for veteran traders

2003 that overwhelmingly negative? Being that my question is which year is your worst year in profits, either everyone here is losing (not making?) money at a scary pace or they've ALREADY surpassed their losses in any year 2000-2003. Now that's scary...
