What does this have to do with trading? Serious trades spend their time analyzing market action. Losers spend their time reading financial websites.

Poll: What is your Win Rate

A 100% win rate system has an infinite profit factor. Regardless, you are correct, I have said this already that profit factor is more important than win rate. If you make 5 times what you lose overall, you are a better trader than someone who makes 1.5 what he loses overall, no matter...

Poll: What is your Win Rate

Wrong gain...This formula is the line. The slope is just m. As far as the subject discussed, I will say again that win rate is irrelevant and account ruin depends on money management alone given profitable systems. It is true that systems with low win rate will produce more consecutive...

Poll: What is your Win Rate

Let me try to transalate your statement with an example from math. Let as consider the first order linear equation Y=aX+b If we think of win rate as X, You essentially saying that high X is better for any Y. Of course, this doesn't make any sense. X is an independent variable and Y is...

Poll: What is your Win Rate

You missed the point. I used extreme examples to illustarte the irrelevance of win rate as far as ruin. Ruin depends mostly on money management given a positive profit factor. Profit depends on frequeny of trades. Some trend following funds with many years of positive perofrmance have 10% - 20%...

Poll: What is your Win Rate

No, absolutely wrong. It depends on R:R and risk percent. Win rate can be 10% but avg. losers .1X avg. winners. In this case the profit factor is 1.11, a profitable startegy. If in addition 0.1% of account is risked per trade, ruin is improbable. Win rate 90% and avg. winners 0.1x avg...

Poll: What is your Win Rate

Maybe but what the majority does is another irrelevant statistic to me. Majority in terms of a number does not equate to majority in terms of ability to move the markets. On Monday even if all traders in the world and investment managers decide to sell bonds and the FED starts buying, bonds will...

Poll: What is your Win Rate

Irreleavant statistic. The most important ststistic IMO is the profit factor. Must be bigger that 1.75. Then you are doing well. You can have 90% win rate and still get ruined.

Do you see patterns in Random Walks?

What counts in the markets is purchasing power not perception. Purchasing power creates direction. If the view of the majority is flawed but they have enough purchasing power it is not flawed posteriori. This is one major flaw of Bayesian analysis.

Do you see patterns in Random Walks?

This robot bird flocking is not spontaneous synchronization. It is guided algorithmic synchronization. IMO no relation to market related phenomena at all.
