what will they try next to save the market?

Fed and Treasury are going to give everyone an Etrade account with a $500 credit in it, and 1000:1 leverage. Bada Bing! Problem solved, the next bubble will begin to build, and we can do what we always do and forget about the underlying problems while we bid up dumb ass shit like soybeans and...

When does BOONE PICKENS shut up?

Yeah, he's just as lost as everyone else in this market. Last week on CNBC, he said that oil wouldn't drop below $100, because OPEC liked it above there, but not below that $100 level. His hedge fund lost 35% in July I hear. That's alot of money when you're managing multi-billions.

    GS will beat earnings....

last quarter, the little pop that GS got from it's earnings was faded within a few days, and the market environment was a better than it is presently. It's really going to be interesting. Either way, I think the move is going to be a very powerful one.

    SnP Price Target 1150

That would crush any hopes of a housing turnaround, debt-burdened consumers would default left and right. This why Ben will not do so unless commodities make a big comeback.

    SnP Price Target 1150

I think the fed/treasury has set it's doctrine. Wall St. Bailouts abound!

    GS will beat earnings....

options action has an upside bias, but it looks like retail lottery ticket buyers, who are going and snatching 30-and-40 dollar otm calls with theta working against them, and subsiding volatility going to the end of this week. Fuckin Pikers.

    SnP Price Target 1150

50% fib retracement from 2002-2003 lows to 2007 high is in the 1160-1170 area. Sounds like we've got some confluence going on, but we'll probably get some nice congestion, with a short term bounce, because our problems will haunt this market well throughout 2009 and into 2010. I don't see us...

    GS will beat earnings....

They've really got to pull a rabbit out of their hat to do something big. If not, we might get a near term bounce, and continuance of trend (which is obviously down). The outlook is what people are going to want to hear. Blankfein has been calling bottoms all year, and GS has still continued...

    Gs Making New Lows

Goldman's earnings tomorrow will be a big market barometer. They have the ability to put alot of worries at ease if the crush, but if they're weak, it's going to be a down draft across the board.

    MER excellent short opportunity?

Remember when BAC took full ownership of CFC? Kinda the same scenario and results. People faded that gap, too. These govt. induced marriages just aren't as sexy as free market ones. Don't be fooled into thinking MER is a turnaround story. Look at CFC.

Okay, someone explain to me why exactly Lehman brothers unwinding their NG contracts would cause a price spike?? Wouldn't we see just the opposite, like the SocGen futures unwind mess? Maybe the sold at such a fair price that the market went ape? Looks to be fading now. School me please.

Golman Sachs making new lows ahead of Earnings

Looks like the darling of wall st. is underwater. The question is: "Is this a classic setup, where Goldman rebounds 40pts tomorrow, on earnings?", or "Is this the beginning of a big backslide that will see GS into the sub 100's?" This setup is eerily similar to the mid March earnings...

LEH is a great franchise and Wall Street will not let it go the way of BSC

Sounds like our London Hedger lost a grip on his position. He'll probably Waltz in here and make a cliche comment about giving back a small percentage of his earnings for the year. Then he'll berate everyone on this board a little more, and tell us that America is the dumbest country in the...
