    "Buyback Ratio" or Indicator?

Is there any kind of buyback indicator or index out there which describes the ratio of buybacks to "authentic" stock purchases? Example: The headline might read, "ABC is up $2 today on bullish interest." Ooh... PILE IN!!! What they don't say that this is artificial, as ABC just bought back...

How to overcome the inability to accept small losses when wrong on trades?

Thank you, very kind of you to say :) I'm doing well this year, but trading very conservatively. We always seem to hear about the great stories; like that time I took a huge short position on Cisco an hour before earnings any my account went off like a slot machine when they missed earnings...

How to overcome the inability to accept small losses when wrong on trades?

Not proud of this, but one week I made some errors and suffered some heavy losses; 3% per day two of those days. It hurt so much that I crawled into bed at market close and curled up into a ball. I realized that this could not continue, so the next week, I resolved to be very clear about how...

    Any recommended youtube trading videos?

I really like the Khan academy vids. They've put out a lot of great content; not too deep or "mathy" but great for general education. For example, here's one explaining the inverse relationship between interest rates and bond prices:

The Car Market in 2018 for the Shade Tree Mechanic

Hi All, I'm looking for a car that I can work on myself. This is proving to be far more difficult than I imagined. When I was a kid, I was a Shade Tree Mechanic (STM). I had a Camaro with a carburetor. It was easy to work on; I replaced the alternator, plugs, wires, and a bunch of other...

New to trading - Got a bunch of books. Scared to learn outdated things.

Based on the advice in these books, I find winning on 4 out of 7 trades... sometimes 3 out of 5. I remember when the moon aligned with Venus, AND Jupiter aligned with Mars. The VIX went into a spin-cycle!

    Industry-Standard CPU/Core Benchmarking Task?

I'm doing ULL kernel tuning, and need to analyze and measure raw cpu and core horsepower; asymptotic analysis is important, but off-topic. Also, multithreading is intimately tied to hardware; such as how threads are assigned to cores, interrupts, hyperthreading, etc.

Perf On a 4-core RH Linux VM for the purpose of tick data monitoring, algo analysis, automated order submission, risk and compliance measures. No GPU available. Industry-Standard CPU/Core Benchmarking Task?

Hello All, What is considered to be the industry-standard task for benchmarking a CPU or core? I'm thinking things like sorting a list of 1000000 elements, or something of that nature. One thread per CPU; no hyperthreading. Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Keith :^)
