    Dell T7500 Server/Workstation - Input Needed

This rig sounds like a great deal. I say buy it and add a 250GB SSD as the boot disk. It'll start fast, and he can use the 500GB for storage/backup. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820250078&cm_re=western_digital_blue_ssd_drive-_-20-250-078-_-Product He'll have to...

    money management problems

Stay the course brother, you're doing fine. Perhaps you could have made more, but think about all the losses you've minimized by managing your risk so well.

    Sad Relationship Story

Chatting with a friend today, call her "Joan." She's a bit older; for whatever reason, she opened up to me about her life. In her 20's, Joan was engaged to be married. She'd been dating the same guy for four years. A month and a half before the wedding, he broke it off. She was utterly...

Thinking about a career change looking for some advice.

It's not really a question of upside/downside, its how much risk you can take based on your situation. If you're supporting a wife and three kids, and really need good health insurance, perhaps best to be that family man on salary and not play the market--at least not full-time. Personally, I...

Thinking about a career change looking for some advice.

Well, what's your situation? You don't have to answer these questions here on the public forum, but ask yourself: 1. Are you married? If so, do the bills get paid with your income? If yes to either/both of these, be sure to check with your other half before diving in. 2. Do you have children...

    Network Woes =-(

I plugged back in to my Xfinity line and trading was smooth and uninterrupted thereafter. Something with this DSL line. Even my video is hanging up more than usual.

Any idea why I keep getting these hiccups? I don't get them through Comcast.

    Network Woes =-(

I've been on Comcast cable for a little while, but I've noticed a lot of traffic around 3pm. My terminal tends to get laggy. I'm on IB TWS, but I'm fairly certain that it's not them. I have a nice Linux workstation set up, but in desperation, I had to connect from my Mac through my iPhone...

What animal represents an indecisive, flat market?

... Boar market is genius! Not only does it neatly fit right in between Bear and Bull (even alphabetically!) but I love the double play on a "Bore" of a market. @lawrence-lugar I'll be sure to tip you next time I get some great info.

WTH is with these End of Day Spikes

There are bigger spikes. The point is that I feel like a big trading party starts when the market closes. I'm not invited... But my money is! I've started selling everything out at EOD, and I feel much better.

Nope. I get the following message, and my order sits idle. Time now is 4:42pm ET on 10/12/2016, so that would be tomorrow morning.

Here again, with the Spider at EOD. I also notice how the price keeps moving and trades occur after the bell... but I can't trade. Look at that volume spike, and price move.

What animal represents an indecisive, flat market?

Dear Peeps, We all know that a Bull market means trending up; a Bear market, trending down. What animal represents a market that's not really going anywhere? One that's sorta flat, and just wandering within a relatively narrow band, seemingly forever? A sheepish market maybe? Sloth market...

WTH is with these End of Day Spikes

Dear Peeps, I'm noticing something that I find to be a bit irritating: end of day spikes. I see some equities gently hovering around a certain price a little while before market close. Everything looks calm... until the clock ticks 4pm. Then, out of nowhere, the price spikes up or down...
