How do we access the weekly options? I'm absolutely shocked there isn't more talk about this new product.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

WTF does a VAT tax have to do with the FTT?

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Yes but there are Democrats that have come out against the FTT as well

Implications of holding futures long term

Yes, assumed they tightened up by rollover time though. That's why I'm asking these questions.. I have never traded futures over a long period of time that would require a rollover so I created this thread.

The real Secret on how to make money from the market

Sorry to say guys but he's right. Trade what works and at the same time develop potential strategies for when that strategy stops working. If you truly trade full-time you will be able to pick up on what's working by the time your current strategy becomes less effective and you can move on to...

Implications of holding futures long term

After looking @ all the alternatives I think my original thought still makes the most sense. My losses will be very quick if they happen so the interest charges will be marginal. If the trade isn't stopped out quickly and it's a large winner then if the trade lasts 6 months and 3% comes off my...

Implications of holding futures long term

Yes exactly, I will make money maybe 50% of the time but my winners will be far greater than my losers (at least I hope!!!) but someone here brought up the point of interest charges. When a trade turns out to be a winner I will be holding on for on average 6 months.. will the interest charges...

Implications of holding futures long term

This is proving more difficult than I had originally thought, any suggestions for the best way to use a lot of leverage long term?

Implications of holding futures long term

Interest is definitely the pitfall right there, enormous interest charges. I'm thinking maybe just buying ITM calls every month that it signals to be long and just rolling over to the next month every expiration. Anyone see any pitfalls in that strategy of buying in the money calls every month...

Implications of holding futures long term

Read my initial post. I'll always be invested in the front month.. I will rollover on expiration day and I'm assuming there will be almost no price difference as there is no contango/backwardation in the S&P.

Implications of holding futures long term

I've thought of it. I just don't see any negative implications for holding futures long term other than the extreme leverage but that is something I obviously already know. I'm just trying to think of any pitfalls if you believe you see a long term trend coming where the market could make a...

Implications of holding futures long term

What are some implications of holding a contract such as the ES long term? I am strictly a short term trader but have some strategies I'm working on longer term and would like to know what roadblocks I may run into if I'm holding the ES long term. I understand I'd have to roll over to the next...

averaging down is good idea now?

I'm not going to explain it to you, just DON'T do it... this rule is far worse for averaging down than the rules that are currently in place.

averaging down is good idea now?

You either a) Do not actually trade b) Do not understand the article and the rules being implemented at all c) You're mentally challenged

    QQQQ down Nasdaq up?

The Nasdaq is up 7 points yet the QQQQ's are down on the day? I'm just wondering why this is? Is it because of after hours action (I'm sure the RIMM report has something to do with this)

Has this NIGHTMARE happened to anyone?

And you looked at every single one? I think you may have a case if absolutely no where throughout the course of the day showed you had a position open.
