    I screwed something up since 13:20 was a Pt2.

Are you sure that this post provides a complete and thorough understanding of how to identify, analyze and act on Spike bars in all circumstances?

The following is a list (hopefully complete) of issues that cause me chronic problems, frustrations and of course the ever present losses. Perhaps others face the same or similar issues as well. It is my hope that collectively we can identify other problems afflicting other traders and create an...

I am very interested to learn why the 9:30 bar did not represent a SOC of the completed traverse from yesterday and start the move from Pt1 to Pt2 down? All and any comments welcome.

Spyder, Was the 10:35 bar the end of a traverse and channel (which began yesterday at 15:05) and the beginning of an entirely new traverse? If so, was the correct action from this point on (for an ES only trader) to hold a long position til EOD...

My suggestion would be to recreate a chart Spyder posts bar bar bar and try to answer the question "he annotated this bar like this because..." If Spyder's chart is not available for the day you are debriefing, use another that seems close.

Truth be told I got snookered by the down move that started at 15:15. In hindsight, as tough as it would have been, I believe a "hold" was the correct action and not a reversal at the development of the R2R at 15:10 to :20 and have to play catch up when 16:00 BO'd the LM to the upside.

We are on the third traverse of a down channel (Dwn - Lat - Dwn). It looks like a possible Pt2 has been formed and we are in the process of moving towards a Pt3 down. Just my take. guava

Ticktrade et. al. attached is my revised view of 10-24. The 15:00 bar could be a Pt1 since it is a BO of a Lateral Traverse. As such it needs to complete a sequence hence the OB w/ IBV at 15:25 which also acts as the start of lateral movement from Pt2 to Pt3 of the newly formed down traverse...

    Iterative Refinement

Weeks not over, but so far yesterday visited serious damage on my weeks P&L, but more importantly, IMHO a trader is only as good as their weakest point. Trading is all about knowledge, discipline and confidence. Inadequacy in any one of these will result in significant problems.

I will add "Lack of 'continuation" to my list of "Traverse Level Signals of Change", but it will apply to a whole bunch of scenarios. A traverse cannot meet conditions for change until it has completed two Volume cycles for every one Price cycle. This seems to match my theory that we had "Non...

It is my understanding that in order for an IBGS to kill a lateral it has to form in increasing volume.

    Iterative Refinement

This exercise proves trickier than one might think. For instance, it appeared to me a no brainer to have a lateral starting at 10:05 to 10:35, but Spyder's lateral started at 10:25 and lasted to 10:45 which would alter what was dominant and what was non dominant.

Issues of Confusion 10-22-08 1. Looking for the Signal of Change at or around 10:05. Concerning 13:20, 13:25 and 13:30 all would have completed a traverse and provided a valid Signal of Change. 13:20 = It seems logical that the 13:20 (IRV w/ close inside range of previous bar) would...

    Iterative Refinement

I find myself in agreement with ticktrade regarding the lack "dominant" on the first down traverse starting at 10:30. The following is my play by play: 10:30 Inside bar = Non Dom :35 BO Pennat w/ DRV = Non Dom :40 Inside bar = Non Dom :45 Lateral FBO w/ DBV = Non Dom :50 Lateral FBO =...

Can we stipulate from this point forward, that all referenced bars are henceforth and forever more considered "[close of]" and eliminate the cumbersome need to state it each time an ES bar is referenced?
