    Rough rule of thumb; The larger the account the tighter the spread. To make a broker recommendation would require an opening account size.

    How about the need for an edge causes some folks to try to cheat? Horse doping or bribing jockeys, vs front running, pump & dump penny stocks, or insider trading, etc.

    Hi Twinsen, Interesting idea, but day trading stocks with a US broker requires a $25,000 account. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pattern_day_trader If you want to day trade with $4,000 at IB, maybe look into CME futures on the Dow (YM), Nasdaq 100 (NQ) or Forex. Best of luck - Lou
