Little info about you as a trader

Never went that far. It was just me and a couple of buddies talking about the possiblity of owning a strip club. We ended up starting some web-based business that was shutdown after a year.

Little info about you as a trader

I moved to Cleveland in 2000 and left 2006. They shut pinky's down around 2004 I think? rumor has it that it violated city code or what have yous. I'm quite sure there's some prostitution going on in there.

Little info about you as a trader

How did you even get started? did you buy into the biz? I don't mean to hijack this thread but this is quite possibly one of the more entertaining facts about anyone here. LOL. Also, myself and a couple of friends talked about buying this old ran-down strip club in cleveland a couple of years...

    Trading fulltime retail with $50k

scri, based on your statements/story, I would have to argue that you blew out your account because you did not have the right money management skills nor the correct position sizing. I would argue that I don't have an edge in most cases. Unless you think trading using S/R and candlestick...

    Ninja Trader Dome Options?

Definitely go with the static but know that you have to PAY to be able to use the Static DOM unless you use some broker that includes the extra cost in its commissions such as mirus etc. I use IB so I discovered I had to pay (forgot the exact amount) around .10 per contract per side. Dynamic...

    Defeat Recession or Inflation?

Now for a trader who makes money whether the market is up or down, this may be true. But for the regular joe blow, which would affect him more - losing his job if the market goes into recession for a year or slowly see his purchasing power slip away ~ at least he still has a job.. right...

    Defeat Recession or Inflation?

So, I'm curious and I could DEFINITELY be wrong but why are the Feds so fearful of fighting off recession instead of letting it happen since it's part of a natural economic cycle? What's unnatural is devaluing the dollar and furthering inflation which I think has a much larger detrimental effect...

Trade after work -- Trade HSI

Hey ET, pretty impressive trading on HSI. I traded it for about 2 months or so sometime last year but stopped doing it because I didn't have the stomach for it. just wondering, how many points for and against you before you close a trade out?

    Bernanke is a complete goof

Reminds me of Greenspan's book when he told the story of Paul Volcker back in the 80s when people thought he was crazy when he raised rates in a slow and sluggish economy to combat inflation. Not that we're in that level of inflation yet but the feds are starting to get painted into a corner...

This market may make acquisition more likely: JPM's Dimon

That's the reason they divorce during bear markets, because they always overpay during bullmarkets. Acquisitions during bear markets make them look like geniuses when the good times come rolling again.

    This is so F-ed up!

Except VIX is a contrarian indicator. No fear means big drop. Plenty of fear means we're at a bottom. Generally speaking that is.

    I can't sleep, so excited

pumper, I bet you're a losing trader. I've never seen someone so excited about the market when it's going in their direction. It's like you hit the lottery ~ which generally means you lose money in most cases and hit the occassional winner. The way you are, even if you make money now, you're...
