Why do 5% of Traders Win?

This is a repeating theme in the various winning traders I've read about. In other words "fade human nature"......... ?

Why do 5% of Traders Win?

Interesting. So an indicator helps you size up the odds?

Why do 5% of Traders Win?

I'm beginning to think your behavior is intended to test the psychology of the people around you. This post, however, almost makes sense. Again, how do you know this high probability setup will persist into the future?

    "Rigorous" walk-forward backtesting?

Either way it looks like you're coming out ahead. The big risk is that the assumptions behind the original system become invalid some day and the system blows up your account, not whether your sharpe ratio goes down 10%. I've seen 80% / 20% recommended many times, but I'm too new at this to...

    Your Edge

We shall let the balances of our trading accounts reflect how functional we have been in the market........ No judgement, no competition, just getting paid for a service. "Win or lose, everybody gets what they want out of the market. Some people seem to like losing, so they win by...

    Why have the markets pattern?

You've posted this over and over. I'll turn this argument around: what would happen if no one traded the markets? Is is wrong for the local plumber to covet a share of the local market? What would your town be like if there was only one? Businesses fail because they do not...

Interesting how you have never considered the farmer, the miner, the rancher, the company CFO, or other hedgerz who are not looking to make a profit trading, only raise capital and eliminate price fluctuation risk! Also interesting how you have avoided arguing for / against the market's...

The market is what you believe it to be. You trade your beliefs about the market. I perceive that you believe the market is full of people who are trying to outdo, one-up, check-mate, bait & switch, HFT steal, or otherwise take away your stake so you must beat them to the punch. It may...

The hidden secrets of strategy developers

Lots of stuff like this in the tradestation forums. Lots of sample code in the tradestation console. Lots of video tutorials on the tradestation site. I'm sure ninjatrader is similar and so is traderstudio. However, the particular recipe that may or may not quadruple your capital in a...

    Most profitable / favorite strategy

It could just be that your brain is not compatible with trend following. You may find more success with a different strategy. As Intradaybill stated, it's one of the hardest strategies to use. Perhaps Price Physics or Astro Arb will appeal to your sensibilities? :D

    Most profitable / favorite strategy

As Handle123 stated, how you manage the trade after you enter is far more important than when / how you enter........ No prediction, just management of the trade after it is put on. You could argue that by positioning yourself for a trend after your setup, you have predicted that one...

    Why have the markets pattern?

You may have just given away your trading style. :D I know I did - trends are based on fear of missing out or fear of losing. Your tactics of anticipating the big money can only be horizontal support / resistance due to limit buying. How else could you move huge money without moving...
