Mark, Just wanted to say thanks for this thread. I decided to start on page 1 and get caught up so I can participate in the thread. I'm on page 50 now, so hopefully will get there soon. Thanks, Chris

    Trading Hammers (revisited)

Mark, So you have found in your trading that you enter a position on the 3 minute chart, first exit is on the 3 min chart and the other exit points are based on the 5 minute chart? If so, I'm curious to know why that is. Thanks! Chris

What do you tell your friends who don't have a clue...

JN- Well, if I could chime in here... I was a financial salesman, I mean 'financial advisor' for 4.5 yrs and resigned in July to become a full-time trader. If I could offer a few pieces of advice should you decide to approach your friend (and I have quite a bit of knowledge about our good...

Need ideas on charting software, looking to replace eSignal

There is another thread here discussing how bad eSignal was today. My trading partners and I feel it's time to move to a new charting package. So, who would you recommend? We ONLY trade E-Mini's and the major ones - ER2, ES, QM, etc. Thanks!!

    Steve Nison Seminars

Traveling - that is not what this thread was about or intended for! That's the ironic part of this whole thread. All I wanted was some advice from those that HAD attended a Nison live seminar. That's it. None of my posts were meant to debate candlesticks, I understand there are many ways to...

Mark (a.k.a. NihabaAshi)- THANK YOU FOR A USEFUL, INTELLIGENT POST. You are truly a great member and resource on ET.

    Steve Nison Seminars

I think the idea here is guys that just b/c you don't like or use or understand candles, doesn't mean they don't work. I've been trading for years and before that was a broker for years. So to talk to me like a newbie is just flat wrong. I like candles and I'm going to the seminar. If...

    Steve Nison Seminars

Sometimes this forum is a joke. I asked for comments about Steve Nison's seminars and you guys have provided anything but that. If you don't like candlesticks, FINE, I don't care. Start your own thread entitled 'Why I hate candlesticks'. You are entitled to your opinion, as am I. If you can't...

    Steve Nison Seminars

Risk - you obviously have no education in candlestick analysis. Again, thank you for your well thought out comments, now please get back to your $500 million hedge fund since you are obviously a very skilled trader. Maybe we'll see you on the cover of Trader Magazine next month? :D

    Steve Nison Seminars

nkhoi - you are right, his delivery can be dry, but we'll have to deal with that. We've had success using candlesticks with other technicals, but are looking to refine that knowledge and this upcoming seminar was the first that really peaked our interest. The nice thing about a seminar like this...

    Steve Nison Seminars

Risk - thank you for that very well thought out post. I have heard that many 'big' traders use candlesticks in their analysis. My trading partners and I use them heavily, so something like this is useful for us. It may not be useful for you, but try to conduct yourself like a man (or woman)...

    Steve Nison Seminars

Has anyone here attended a Steve Nison live seminar? I'll be attending one soon and just curious to hear any thoughts, opinions, recommendations, etc. Thanks!

    Financial Advisor??????

It's a tough business to crack into if you don't have some friends/family with big pocketbooks ready to invest. I started when there was not a do not call list and that helped. Now, with that list, your prospect list has gotten very small. In addition, as firms get hit with more and more...

    QM volume picking up

"but virtually stopped after the change because i lost my DOM (can't see the depth) and because they only accept Limit orders" Leapfrog - I understand about the limit orders; however, just so you know, you can place a Stop Limit with Trade Maven, but it just sits on your computer, not the...

    QM volume picking up

While volume on the QM was weak when first changed to ClearPort, it appears to be picking up. At one point today we saw over 400 sellers at one particular tick. I hope this is a sign of things to come as we traded the QM quite a bit when on Globex and with the change and low volume, we were just...

    Financial Advisor??????

I would stick the big boys - Merrill, UBS, Morgan Stanley, etc. I left the brokerage business in July 2005 and haven't looked back. The business has gotten very difficult for the brokers to make any money. As soon as you do, someone is breathing down your neck to see why you are making $. God...

e-miNY crude oil and gas futures changes

I'd agree with you guys - we aren't trading the QM at all here. Until the volume comes back (but, if we're all waiting, how can it???) and things operate smoothly, we aren't touching it. I've got my DOM open daily and watch the movement, but right now it's kind of spotty with low volume. This...

bateman - thank you for that info, very useful. Yeah, rough year for the Browns... But, as we are very good at saying in Cleveland - there's always next year.
