The brackets () means it is a loss. I might be wrong, but I thought most people knew this. For example, a Net Profit of $10,000 means you have made $10,000. A Net Profit of ($10,000) means you have lost $10,000. If the way that I have posted the net profit is miss leading then I will change it...
