    Markets are impossible to predict

I can predict that you will never be wealthy through investing/trading.

    Markets are impossible to predict

Another moral I've learned is to never bet against the market. There's over 7 billion people on Earth, and 100% of them want the economy to do well. Trying to predict doomsday is not a good strategy. The 3x leveraged S&P is up 91% ttm.

    Markets are impossible to predict

And you seriously believe that this recent volatility is caused by algorithms? And not based on the news? You're probably one of those idiots who thinks construction work will be done by robots in the near future.

    Markets are impossible to predict

True. I wish I could sell it now. I was excited this news would get it to a point where I could sell it without feeling like I lost too much. But no such luck.

    Markets are impossible to predict

My main point was that even the price of a well-known safe-haven like gold breaks even with this news. One might think it would go up. And for it's leveraged counterpart to fall a whopping 13% during the same 3 days. That's more volatile than it's been in a long time. If there's one thing that...

In Disappointing Year, Bridgewater’s Flagship Fund Returns 0.5%

In a year where the S&P rose 26%, I might add.

    Markets are impossible to predict

That's right. I remember reading about that when I bought it. I read some people arguing to the contrary (that you could hold them longer than 1 day) so I decided to just go with it. The spot price of gold is slightly up since the attack on the Iranian general. It's hard to know the exact hour...

    Markets are impossible to predict

Gold is never a good investment? Despite the fact that this very same fund is up 78% on the year? What algorithms? And, okay, you can predict that index funds will rise over time. That's about it.

    Markets are impossible to predict

I've mentioned before that I have real money put into a leveraged gold fund. So when there was that strike that killed the Iranian general this fund went up almost 10% in premarket. This was built up over the weekend I believe. So I thought that day was going to be great, but that 10% gain went...

EURUSD$ - I hope my fellow FX traders took advantage

Whatever turbulence there was in about Q3 2019 has not yet materialized. Do you think that was just false noise?

    Even the best lose sometimes.

https://www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2020-01-07/ray-dalio-s-pure-alpha-ii-loses-money-for-first-time-since-2000 I've also read stories about Soros losing at times. The difference is that they control so much money that even if they make 15% on the year, that amounts to billions in profits.

What if you won the lottery?

Sounds like me when I put $100,000 of fake money into a currency trade and "win" big. Makes me think I could do it for real. But I'm beginning to realize this isn't the case. The markets are too unpredictable.

What if you won the lottery?

So you unwisely swing for the fences out of desperation?

What if you won the lottery?

You would buy $200 million of gold? You also seem clueless. This was a good question because despite the fact that many of you are trying to insult me, you are revealing that you just want to play games and would stop "working" as soon as the opportunity provided itself.

What if you won the lottery?

Sounds like you have no idea how to invest.

What if you won the lottery?

You're still betting either up or down. And you don't know the future. Even if you guess right and think you're a genius, maybe was just a false positive.

What if you won the lottery?

Is trading the best way you know to make money grow?

What if you won the lottery?

If you're confident enough in your trading abilities, wouldn't that $200 million grow into billions? Based on your skill as a trader.

What if you won the lottery?

The point was how would you try to make it grow. Not to just retire.

What if you won the lottery?

So you'd leave it in cash?
