That's an interesting analogy. I assume that the master mechanic is also charging me thousands of dollars for the privilege of helping him remove the engine...? If that's the case, then I'm probably better off with the book and some trial & error time on my own.

    ThinkorSwim Options on Futures Availability

"TOS trading platform is superior!" Interesting. I've heard the opposite from several people as well. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to pick one and see how it goes.

"Options market pricing in a X% move on the stock"

You may think that is a silly incident, but the CBOE was not at all pleased with his actions. They seem to have gotten over their anger in recent years, but I think that's just because there really aren't any other options spokesmen out there right now. Hopefully, that will change soon. I think...

    Online Trading Academy

I might have to check that out, although I try to stick to the free sites like: www.oicoptions.com www.cboe.com www.theoptionsinsider.com www.888options.com etc, etc.... I just can't bring myself to pay for options info. I feel like I'm getting scammed. Most of it isn't any...

"Options market pricing in a X% move on the stock"

If you're smart, you'll stay FAR AWAY from anything that Dr. J fellow has to say. He's a shady self-promoter who's had a number of legal and ethical "improprieties" over the years. If you want to know more about how shady he is, just peruse some of the customer reviews for his books on Amazon...

    ThinkorSwim Options on Futures Availability

I was considering signing up with OptionsXpress now that they've purchased XpressTrade. What exactly is it about TOS that makes you prefer them?

Prop Shops That Pay You To Trade?

Stay away from the prop shops. Thankfully, most of these shady operations went bust back in the meltdown of 2000. A few others, like Datek, went on to become reputable institutions. However, they are the exception rather than the rule. Most of these shops are more interested in squeezing you...

    Niederhoffer's Matador Fund 2006 Performance

It's hard to believe that this guy can still find investors. I remember when his book, "The Education of a Speculator," came out back in the 90's. Of course, he blew out his fund by selling SPX puts into a massive downturn shortly after that, and his book promptly went into the bargain bin...

Do these guys have options info as well? I'm not going to pay 4K for their classes, but I might check out some of those torrents. :)

Beginner Needs Reliable, FREE Options Information

This is a fantastic thread! I've been looking for the same info myself. I've already been to the OIC & CBOE sites, but I haven't visited the rest of the sites on this list. I've definitely got some surfing to do. Also, if anyone else has any good sites to recommend, feel free to send them...

    WolfeWave

Wow! I'm obviously in the wrong business. I'm going to start charging thousands to bestow my "trading secrets" upon the masses..... ...in case you can't tell, I was being sarcastic. In general, stay away from people who charge so much for trading systems, secrets, etc. You're better off...
