KMP - tax gain sellers will sell in the new year after deferring their gains. Chart has some dark cloud cover.
SXC - 79% of the shares are getting dumped on the market in two weeks as shares are distributed to holders of SUN. Should trade down a couple of bucks.
NAVR - a distributor with...
CFD is a commodity pool traded on the NYSE. It follows the mechanical trading system developed by Jarecki. Don't know how it works, but resets in January and sells calls against long-only positions.
Good discussion here...
The strong currency is subsidizing some imports, so that domestic prices don't get too high. So for instance it's subsidizing foreign energy imports. An Argentine can buy oil for less using pesos on the street than she can on the international market using dollars. If I'm an oil retailer, I can...
Reading about the situation in Argentina, I read that the official rate is 4.225/dollar, but that the unoffical rate is more like 4.75.
So my question is, who trades in the black market? Who is excluded from trading their pesos for dollar at the official rate? Because it would make a ton of...
Can someone explain how gld is at $1800+ and many of these miners haven't budged in years? I'm calling for a gold top, but I wonder if gold can top before the miners go nuts.
Open is bleeding to death. Look at a chart, no support until the ipo price. Even better, lots of call buyers and analyst recommendations, the cheerleaders are still polishing their pom-poms. Earning next year at $1.70, short to $25.
But like the article I quote points out, what you ultimately want to buy with gold is stuff, not paper. And 90% of what you consume is domestic, not foreign. So even if the dollar does depreciate vs. gold or the yen, I don't buy much gold or japanese exports. So to the extent that it does...
Ha ha I knew the gold bugs were dead-enders. No trailing stops for these true believers.
You do realize that fiat currencies trade as pairs, so they all can't go to zero?
That's right, the top in gld. We've seen it. With the Euro below 1.40 and the dollar breaking trend lines, the gold bugs are advised to find old copies of "Dow 36,000" on Amazon, because that'll be here long before gold reaches 2000.
I recommend this article from Minyanville...
So the DAX collapses and the EUO still hangs on to the 1.40s. Don't see that lasting long . . . and when it collapses, it will go fast, all the way to the teens.
Refiners are heavily owned by hedge funds, so if the markets turn down, they get out and kill the stocks.
On the other hand, many of the long-term growth stocks (like CMG or BIDU) which are owned by mutual funds have held up pretty well.
One teenager held Crittenton at gunpoint and ordered him to "give me what you got," he told police. He said he handed over a $25,000 black diamond necklace, a $30,000 black diamond watch, an iPhone and $25 cash, according to the report.

From a tweet on August 8, about two weeks before the alleged homicide:

In early August, Crittenton talked about his investments. Tweet from Aug. 8:
I try not to let my money just sit in the bank so I...
With cash sitting in my account, IB sent me a margin warning - and I have no margin. Apparently I'm within 5% of exceeding my margin, which means that if I take a dollar of margin, I'll be margined out. Admittedly, I have a very concentrated account (in two stocks), but I think IB might want to...
TLDR, maybe if there were a comic version I could read.
People are way overestimating decline of dollar. Even if it does collapse, it only affects the price of goods I buy from overseas. It doesn't affect healthcare, education, housing, which are the big three. Even domestic energy...
