dang, that's why the 22's are cheaper. oh well, looks like I'll have to look into the 24's the next upgrade cycle. why not just get six 30's eh?

Thanks StockzTrader. I'll have to check out radio shack. On weekends I typically nerd-out with the computer since the markets aren't open, wife is out of town, and I have time.

got another question. my 22" top panels seem to have a limited vertical viewing angle. if I leave them straight, they are faded and I can't really read them. So I have to use the pivots vertically and face them slightly downwards to see clearly. Do you have the same problem with the 24's? I...

Smart! on the lamp. I think I'll head to the local computer store to see what fans they have. where did you buy the step down voltage resistor?

Great minds think alike :) I've extended my arms like you have. Good idea about the center pole. Is it the same 28" pole as the others? Good idea also about the fan. unfortunately, only the 30" has a 12 volt for the sound bar. do they need a fan? will they burn out without airflow...

lol, doesn't everyone carry spare monitors around in case of failure? :D kidding kidding. originally, I ordered five 22" dells with the intent of 2 being the vertical side panels. but surprise, they were too tall (wide). it's possible, but looked bad. so I went to the store, bought some 19"...

Thanks, I have the same configuration you see in that picture. I'm wondering if it would be good to add another arm to make it even wider.

I think it would be possible to add yet another short crossbar part # 97-195-200 connected to the original short crossbar 97-195-200. What do you think? too heavy? do you think the stand can hold it?

StockzTrader, Got a puzzle for you, maybe you can figure it out. The stand we both have can fit either 3 x 24" monitors, or 1 x 30" monitor + smaller side panels. Is it possible to add another arm on the bottom crossbar to have a 30" LCD flanked by 2 x 24" LCD's? I think with LCD's, the...

one nice function of nview is the desktop profiles. I've set up 2: 1. just the 30" alone with the others powered off 2. all the panels powered on that way on weekends or night when I just want to use the 30" I can switch profiles and not have to push the power button on 5 panels. they go...

Nvidia's software does the rotation for you, it's part of their Nview function. I'd imagine the multi display software from ATI or Matrox should do it also. I use Nvidia's Quadro NVS 400 to power the 4 side panels, and an Nvidia 7900GS to power the middle two 30" and 22".

Thanks StockzTrader. I use Tradestation for quotes and charting, IB for execution, and Bracket Trader for order management. I ran IB demo because they shut down access on Friday nights for server maintenance, and to not show my account number to the world :)

As of now I have Dell 22" on order. the height may be a problem as in portrait mode it's 20" tall, and the dell 30" is 18.5" tall. I may see how the 22's are in portrait mode and change them for something else. I love the 30 though, since it's a great centerpiece. Yes, the ergotron is awesome...
