Why CFD? Only reason might be british stamp duty... Go with direct market access. Spreads very tight or even non existent (ie. Auctions), way cheaper financing with reasonable broker (ie. IBKR) and account size such as yours.

If you look at ES-NQ spread on open it definitely is many standard deviations off.

Those quants were very wrong when they bought up NQ right after vaccine news, be it as momentum or spread trade. There is just no historical data explaining the divergence between ES/ Russell/YM to NQ that day. ES up, Russell Limit up and Nq deep red.

They advertise 0 commission. But their hidden commissions are sky high... Spreads are crazy high on all CFD asset classes. Overnight rates as well. Stay far away and choose a broker with direct market access or if not at least with better fee structure.

You have 50k USD and sell 1M USD against EUR. Ibkr handles it as a real conversion, not a trading position. Thus you know have: - 950k USD and long 1M worth of EUR. Exposure to EURUSD is 950k, the other 50k in EUR are just sitting there.

It's not an arb... it's more of a spread bet, or well basically a bet on the ecb to keep bailing out aka buying bad sov debt of italy and others... Can go very wrong, for instance look at the greek debt haircut of 50% in 2011...
