    Trading Weekly Options

I am trading index options credit spreads on weeklies in pre-production mode (small money trading) to discover the differences in dynamics, bid/ask spreads, fill probabilities, etc. vs. monthlies. So far it seems that the weeklies act much the same as monthlies during the monthlies last week...

    Vertical spread risk/reward?

I'm speaking of credit spreads. I'm not sufficiently versed in debit spreads to speak authoritatively, although I am am aware of similar opportunities. I routinely earn 8% to 12% per expiration on money at risk when an Iron Condor is formed. This happens most of the time, although it may take...

    my new system

I just took delivery of a Dell M6500 laptop workstation. Although I use it for trading, that is not its primary function. I had trouble configuring it. I called the online service and after the smoke cleared he had saved me 25% of what I was expecting to pay. He found two screens at higher...

    Vertical spread risk/reward?

I make my living trading index options credit spreads. I've never seen those kind of returns on any one spread that did not have a high probability of getting into serious trouble before expiration. SPX Historical Spread Plays

Two aspects of this cause me some concern. Backtesting has significant limitations whether you use tick data, or settlement data. Depending on getting the fills in real trading as you did in backtesting frequently leads to disappointment. Furthermore, backtesting has a tendency to lead to...

How do u know u have made it in daytrading?

You seem to feel you are competing with others in the market. Unless you are a really big player, your trades go unnoticed. If you are not a significant player, you are competing against only yourself. I don't see any advantage or necessity of having a unique strategy. Your ability to...
