    Limit Bid Price

Do you want to buy at the bid and sell at the ask or vice versa? If it is the former then unless the market moves against you you will not get filled on the bid when buying or on the ask when selling.

    VIX options

Yes, VIX options are based on spot VIX not VIX futures. And to add to that, options that are not front-month will be based on forward VIX value rather than spot. So there will be a difference between the spot VIX and the underlying VIX for particular options up until close to expiry.

    options software

Yes, I'm aware of it, but I need something along the lines of Optionvue. A simple excel-based calculator won't do nor will the analysis tool from Hoadley. Thank you for your reply!

Do market makers see trailing stops?

Those orders sit on the broker's system until triggered so MM's cannot see them.

First of all, OX does accept payment for order flow, it states right there on their website OptionsXpress TOS, on the other hand, does NOT! Second, are you implying that TOS trades against customers!? You say that: For you information, TOS does not do that either! Third, the...

    Option newbie - Help

You are absolutely correct. If one considers buying a stock and at the same time buying a put to protect it then he/she should just buy a call as it is the same thing. On the other hand, if the stock position already exists (i.e. long term investment) then buying a put makes sense. Using...

    Option newbie - Help

Yes, you buy 1 contract. If the stock goes up you lose just the premium. If the stock falls then at expiry you have a gain of 5 less premium on puts, which offsets the loss of 5 on the stock (not fully, obviously).

I second that. Once you learn how to use the platform you start thinking how you could have traded without it all this time.:)
