Hi, I got a "stupid" question, which month do options on futures settle into and is there a website that has this info, I searched all over NYMEX website and couldn't find any info? I mean, say April options on copper futures, do they settle into Apil futures or.....? Thanks!

Yes, VIX options are based on spot VIX not VIX futures. And to add to that, options that are not front-month will be based on forward VIX value rather than spot. So there will be a difference between the spot VIX and the underlying VIX for particular options up until close to expiry.

Yes, you buy 1 contract. If the stock goes up you lose just the premium. If the stock falls then at expiry you have a gain of 5 less premium on puts, which offsets the loss of 5 on the stock (not fully, obviously).
