    2006 from 100K to 266K, 2007 3.5 months from 266K to 360K

My comment wasn't about you, it was about the market. When it gets to where everybody is a big winner, the punchbowl gets taken away.

Finding homebuilder bottom (and housing bottom)

I'd give it a year or two. This housing decline isn't going to reverse to where they will want to be building anytime soon.

Anyone else predict a larger correction coming?

I still think we are likely to see some sort of reduction in liquidity pretty soon. There is already been so much money chasing so few things worth buying, and so much speculation, its just gotten silly. They won't let that go on very long. Its already all too apparent.

    GOLD Stocks

I don't think I'd take Alex's advice on any gold stock trades after his calls last year.

    small cap position/swing traders?

Just because a stock is under $5 doesn't make it go up or down tomorrow or the next day. I play a lot of under $5 stocks. Its been very good to me. There are thousands of them out there. Just got to find the right ones at the right time is all. Buying 80% of the daily volume of a stock...

one month 100% return. can you do it. I did it

Maybe I'm reading it wrong... I don't understand the point of only investing 10% of the money, if that's what you are saying. If so, you just took a great 50% big winner and made it into a safer, but just ok, 5% play. I'm not suggesting it would be wise to plow every penny you own into the...

one month 100% return. can you do it. I did it

I didn't quite understand it all, but if you have $50k and earn $25k, it seems to me that would be a 50% return, which is still real good for 1 month.

    housing bailout

Its irrational to think or expect a bailout of subprime or alt-A loans. The lenders themselves will renegotiate the loans as needed to avoid foreclosure as much as they can because foreclosing is bad for their profits. That's already started to happen. Renegotiating costs a few thousand...

Anyone else predict a larger correction coming?

We go up as long as the easy money keeps coming, or maybe it stops for "sell in May". As soon as something triggers people and funds to reduce debt levels, the markets will turn south. You have both the "carry trade" money, Private Equity debt financed buyouts, and record margin debt from...

    Auto Economics...New Cars $2500 to $3500...

There are no "free" energy sources unless you have a car that runs on used french fry oil. As soon as more people have cars that can run on those, it won't be free, either. Sure, the sun and wind are free, but the gizmos needed to harness them are as much or more expensive than fuel. I...

Earnings reports- Why do they seem to to trash stocks

Its because everything is already way overpriced assuming everything will be bought out. So as soon as any news comes out, and its not a buyout, everybody takes their profits while they can. Do the same or find yourself holding the bag.

    June Gold...

I bought bunch of gold today. Why? 1) trade deficit friday. since import prices were higher than expected, I think trade deficit will also be high 2) PPI friday 3) consumer sentiment friday. Bloomberg was saying 60% of Americans now expect a recession in the next year 4) dollar...

60% of Americans Expect Recession W/in 1 Year - Last Time This High Was Dec of 2000

I guess we see if it was true or not when we see consumer confidence tomorrow

NASD sounds alarm on margin buying

Yup, Hopeless. I went to cash. Silly to be long waiting for the axe. Silly to be losing money short waiting for it.

It is time for a showdown - which group is more important for corporate America.

I'm amazed this one didn't get moved to chit chat.

    Giving Up Trading!

Ok, I quit. Add my name to that "quitter list". All out to cash. Screw it, I'll pay the short term taxes on ALL of the profit. Step right up, EVERYBODY is a WINNER here! Even I know what has to come next...

    Option liquidity

If you are planning to trade more than about 10 or 20 contracts of anything you will find that the liquidity is terrible without getting killed on the spread.

    2006 from 100K to 266K, 2007 3.5 months from 266K to 360K

Lose the debt. When the market turns south it will be like an anchor tied to your neck. Forget other people. Trying to manage other people's money would be a headache. The position sizes would need to be huge, and you won't be able to get in or out easily, so if something goes sour, you...

How do value investors live day to day?

I think I see the problem. How many years can you live off a 25% year of winning trades? If your answer is less than 2 you either need to do real well ALL of the time, or you need other sources of income. In other words, you need to build up more capital. You don't want to be eating...
