    ES Journal - 2013

out of these 2 added longs at 1673 for a 4 point realized loss. So total realized now = 21-4 = 17 points and 2 contracts from 1693 long still. I realized that being long so much with govt shutdown is insanity. I will be happy to buy these 2 cars 20 points down from here :)

Exchanges "temporarily" not available on IB??

I also don't trade CBOT....but I have products trading on CBOT enabled in my account. Is it that you don't have products trading on CBOT enabled in your account? Because I always thought that these red flashing alerts are for everyone. Now you say you didn't receive this makes me wonder!!!!

Exchanges "temporarily" not available on IB??

Thanks for the link Bob! But such outages at least on IB side are not rare - I have not kept track but I will guess that on a weekly basis at least that red alert blinks 5-15 times, so we are talking of at least 1-2 outages per day on average at least on the IB side, if not the exchange side...

    ES Journal - 2013

out of 2 at 1678 for 7+7 = 14 points. And made 7 points on 2 cars on the other scalp on Friday from 83 to 86.5, so 7 points on that. So, booked total of 21 points by now. Current open unrealized loss is 93-78 = 15 points for 2 cars, so a total of 30 points. So, net loss as of now = 9 points...

Exchanges "temporarily" not available on IB??

So, from time to time I see a red blinking alert come up on my TWS saying things like ONE not available for trading ONE is again available for trading CBOT not available for trading etc. Do these outages are IB specific in the sense that they represent problems in IB's connections with...

    ES Journal - 2013

Whatever happens I don't see ES going below 1630 at all. Actually between 1640-1660, it will be a great opportunity to buy back from a position trade perspective (3-6 months) - looking at 120-180 point profit for 30 point loss. If we get there and if I develop the patience to keep my open...

    bloomberg tradebook?

when did they come up with a DOM. Actually, I never bothered to check if thy have a DOM, so maybe they had it for long but I don't know. You are one of the first I have met who says they switched from TT to bbg for execution. Otherwise most of the bbg users work for big firms and use it for...

Midpoint match and pegged to midpoint orders

My above comment is general in nature. Few months back, I was wondering about the impact cost, liquidity, execution, trade size etc. on different stocks - on nasdaq, vs nyse etc. Same question can be asked for different futures, all the spread combinations, option spreads/flies, other countries...

Midpoint match and pegged to midpoint orders

i think only real way out of this conundrum is to ask experienced traders or to basically have a bankroll of 50,000 usd as test bankroll which you use to test all kinds of market impact costs.
