A list of what I like about Don Bright and Bright Trading

Hey Bung...thought I was the only one that thought that. Seems like the people that contribute get flamed, and the people that bitch and moan get reinforcement from the other malcontents. (for the most part). The fact that Don B. takes the most crap and is the most helpful in his...

    Daytrading SPY and BBH

I have traded the qqq's often, but usually as a hedge, and not a particularly good one. This is because I can't trade enough of them to really hedge a large portfolio of ndx or nasdaq stocks. But sometimes it is just there to do, and it is easy to get a short position on. They are probably a...

    The Tao of Publias

Like all of us, I have done the same dumb thing. I think it's like taking a spill on a motorcycle. Gotta get it over with to become an experienced rider. Good thing for me...I didn't get bailed out of the trade, but it was in a customers account. So f'n Merrill Lynch wanted to take it out of...

    is greed good???

Glad to hear it...you had me worried for a second:) I should have known better though...my bad!

    is greed good???

Letting a winner turn into a loser is IMHO the single worst mistake you can make daytrading.

    is greed good???

Publias, I don't know if you were being facetious or serious, so I don't know how to take your comment. But.... "right"? I don't think being intentionally antagonistic is a characteristic you can call "right". You know I said "thank god I'm an atheist". But calling Jesus a "moron" is just...

    "Bright Trading"

Habari, I think you make an excellent point here. If you want my opinion, you can be happy at virtually any firm if you are doing well. Now I realize that this sounds trite, and certainly won't help you to make a decision as to where the best place to start is. But I don't think there is any...

    Short Housing

cracked, I understand what you are saying here. But I think that there can be real value or lack of it as well. Not just subjective like your examples. For instance....two homes can be across the street from one another. One is in one school district, and one in another. Suppose one is in a...

Is Bush risking his presidency on Iraq?

Can't get anything by our friend MS. He is of course correct. As always:)

    Home Eqiity Line

This is the point I have tried to make here. This guy has no intention of "betting his house". I am certain he doesn't have a house to bet. All he has is the desire to waste everyone's time with rediculous statements and complaints.

    Home Eqiity Line

certainly sounds like the same annoying kind of childish antagonistic buffoon. I love that guys like this will complain about their firms, their lives, just about anything. And never ever contribute anything at all. They detract from our time and our efforts. A guy like Don Bright takes a ton of...

    Home Eqiity Line

why are you wasting everyone's time with these posts? In one thread you are a young guy just starting out. In another you are 59 with a big line of credit. You have said you were going to quit trading and get a respectable job. You said that Schonfeld was going to give you a salary to learn to...

    is greed good???

Sounds like your trading lacked a "plan". If you trade like this, you will always be looking at what could have been. Every trade you make, you will look back on thinking you should have stayed in, you should have gotten out, etc. There is no such thing as perfect entry and exit. All you can...

A list of what I like about Don Bright and Bright Trading

I find myself feeling the same way. He does seem helpful, and he does keep his composure under a lot of fire (which seems unjustly harsh at times). I see no reason anyone would start a thread with the intent of bashing Bright Trading or Don himself. Yet it seems to happen repeatedly. I...

    Supermontage!!!!

This means no limit orders? Sounds strange to me. I know that some ecn's don't take market orders, and that makes a certain degree of sense, but not this. Are you sure?

I hate my Broker or Prop Firm

7/24...3:57 pm 7/24....9:28 pm Something seems more than a little off....maybe it's just me:confused: PS: I don't work at Schonfeld, but I have worked WITH Schonfeld in several capacities over many years. Trade555 is delusional.

I hate my Broker or Prop Firm

All about capital requirement. It takes more to hold a position overnight. Simple as that.

I hate my Broker or Prop Firm

A: Open door? Who told you that? B: Top traders meaning what? Three guys? The other 700 can't hold any position more than 24 hours. C: 2 days a month? Yeah, if you can make $1,000,000 a day! You are going to go to Schonfeld from Worldco and get $50,000,000 in buying power??? Very amusing!! D...

I hate my Broker or Prop Firm

OK, I respect your respectful disagreement:) I must admit that I have very limited experience trading mid-cap stocks that move the way you describe. And I can see how bullets would make it at least possible to short them when otherwise you could not. I guess I am just a believer in buying...

I hate my Broker or Prop Firm

shouldn't really be a problem. Nasdaq stocks are almost always possible to get a short except in extreme down movement, in which case you shouldn't want to get filled anyway. This just shows impatience and poor timing. Listed stocks, while frustrating to wait for, still should be shorted...
