    Limit Bid Price

Yes, because you are paying for the b/a spread. If you don't like paying the spread, just buy the underlying stock if you have the money. The spread in the underlying stock is always tighter than the option spread.

Any comments on this GM butterfly

Riskarb, why would someone betting so big and in an obvious way? Wouldn't there be other forces trying to trade against this bet? And why wouldn't he do it in batches, so it would not be so obvious? May be he is doing something besides this butterfly??

    Limit Bid Price

:D You can bid at any price you want, but if you are very eager to get filled now, you hit the ask. If you are willing to wait, you can always put it in between the b/a or sitting at the bid.

    Interested in trading again

Save $500 per month, and go live after 6 months? So $3k would be enough for your comeback?? Seriously you should save till you got at least 25k. And by that time if your paper trading account is still doing very well, then you will have more confidence to go in.

    Observations on the NYSE specialist.

Do you guys think the specialist likes to trade against me? Say right after I buy, he or she will somehow manipulate the price down until I give up? Or say right after I sell short, he or she will jack up the price so I will have to cover at a loss? Does the specialist hate people who...

    Anyone read thestreet.com's option alert?

Option coach, you still don't get my point. Look at what DonnaV and liulala wrote and you see how newbies fall into the trap of cherry picking the suggested trades, not blindly following all of them. If Steve is as good as he seems to be, I will follow all of his suggested trades. The...

    Anyone read thestreet.com's option alert?

liulala, read my response to DonnaV about cherry picking the suggested trades by option alert. In short, if you are better than Steve such that you think you can cherry pick his suggested trades, then you don't need to subscribe to the option alert. And if you are the 50/50 normal people...
