    Easy Genesis GTP/FIX question

If anyone has experience with this.... when auto trading with GTP or FIX, can you log into the same account with Laser with and view your open positions, limit orders flying around, do some manual trading etc? I think the C++ API launches and controls a Laser window, so you can see all that...

    Limit order fills

Ok for orders larger than the bid size it would sweep the books .... just making sure that placing a sell limit under the bid isn't an invitation to get screwed (vs. a market order).

    Limit order fills

I have an auto system using market orders. Stocks are screened for liquidity. It works fine except 10% of the time when the stock is moving fast, the spread widens, and you are filled 0.5 or even 1% off the last price. So I am converting to limit orders. Some newbie questions ..... assuming a...

How to never get an account wiped out?

Nice job recovering from the drawdown. Now take a breath and assess what happened. The problem with anti-martingale is you had to make 500% to recover an 80% drawdown. I would suggest ..... if your original account size is 10k .... using fixed size when your balance is below 10k (use small...

    Great windows utility program

Using a priority app has made a huge difference in my machine, especially when multitasking with trading apps, development apps and mysql server. You just have to be smart with it .... trading apps at "high", mysql at "idle", "explorer.exe" at high etc. I use this program - it is freeware...

    Risk Of Ruin Calculation

Your ROR will be very low .... but more important is how many trades are in the sample size, and does it maintain performance with out-of-sample data and different market conditions. EricP has some nice formulas - http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36083 Stats on 50...

    An Autistic Genius Explains:

Just going to the supermarket and 99% of everything we consider commonplace is painful for Daniel, so why would he want to be successful in a traditional sense? He has to define his own goals in life. Many successful people not being ultra-intelligent .... that is probably luck :D

    ECBOT open again

This is kind of ridiculous. But what would really be rough is if you are long 5 contracts in a $6000 account, market closes for a real reason (like Chicago blew up), the Dow reopens 2000 points lower and you have a $50,000 margin call.

I am willing to bet they will discover that autism is a synergy between mercury exposure and cell wall deficient (CWD) pathogens.

Is this silly or what. am I supposed to help an automator to put me out of work?

There is a tendency to rely on the computer too much, and start thinking in terms of what is easy to code up, rather than thinking outside the box.... although, dabbling in automated systems can be valuable to acquire a knowledge base about how different types of ideas tend to pan out, so you...
