Why is the Futures market supposedly more difficult?

Sometimes I think most of the posters here on ET are both fake and boobs. How sad is that? M

Why is the Futures market supposedly more difficult?

Great idea! I'll start the new thread and we can continue this discussion there. M

    Why avoid the open?

If this were true, wouldn't the person on the other side of your trade be more skilled on average in the morning, thereby making it harder to trade not easier? M

Tradestation 8.1 Miscalulates Buying Power, Margin Calls may result

Since you brought it up, the analytics and backtesting are great but the rest is, um, not so great, including the data (which bursts in times of higher volume), the order execution (sporadic 10-15 second delays between "Order Sent" and "Order Received" and the overall brokerage experience (>45...

    Systems for sale

I've been running the present portfolio for several months now. The individual models were completed and have been traded off and on for 1-3 years (different for each model). The actual results have been consistent with the hypotheticals over that time. M

Yes, one unit is the 6/4. The expected average return of this unit is in the area of $5k/month. This lease fee works out to about 10% of the expected average profits, which is half of the incentive fee one would pay to the typical CTA. I settled on half because the client accepts the risk...

It varies from model to model. Testing typically shows 1-4k per contract max drawdown for each model. The portfolios do better than the individual models, of course. The whole thing is built for robustness and reliability, not to produce flashy numbers. M

    Systems for sale

Well, a tier 2 model of mine shows an expectation in the area of $1k/month per contract. A vendor would have to be an idiot to sell such a system for under $1,000 and a buyer would have to be an idiot to expect him to... Especially for unlimited use... And especially fully disclosed. Perhaps...

    Systems for sale

That's why I do leasing and not sales. The systems are not disclosed to anyone, and a single managed systems broker does the trading for all clients so I can maintain strict controls over the size of the trades and slippage. Works well for everyone. M

    Systems for sale

What if you've written dozens of systems? I trade only my tier 1 systems. The tier 2 systems are available for lease. They're still quite good, just not as good as the tier 1 systems. Otherwise, they'd just sit there collecting dust. By leasing them, they're doing both me and the client...

    tryin to buy an nsx

You aren't making any sense nor is anything you said relevant to the question at hand, namely "How can a print be a buy or a sell, when all trades require both a buyer and a seller?". M
