I'm not sure this is true. After all, there is something called the Dunning–Kruger effect... which might imply the opposite.

As far as I understand that's how the ignore feature "works". Someone ignore's you and then neither of you can see each other's posts... I think. I'm sure it's a bit of a moving target, since the feature can be modified server-side. No matter how it's implemented it will screw up the dialectic...
