Question about Steve Woods 2400% return

My main point was that it had little value for daytraders and that most of the buy and sell signals were obvious without float analysis. If you disagree with this please post a few charts with buy and sell signals that are not obvious with other forms of technical analysis.

    Can somebody translate....

LBR made this comment this morning:' "A huge amount of liquidity has been pumped into the system the past few weeks.....around $200 billion! This is over three times the amount that was pumped into the system prior to Y2K! " Will somebody please explain what she means by pumping liquidity...

    Elite Trader Wishlist

Baron, the only suggestion I have is that you make the email notification feature so that it has to be checked to become active rather than the other way around. Sometimes I forget to uncheck it and the next day there will be 20 emails which adds to my already cluttered morning mail. I...

    Stop Loss

When I have to place a stop I prefer to use a $ amount. I know about what I expect to make on a trade and I like to keep my risk/reward about 1/2 so will use half that amount for a stop.

    DaytraderPro.com

They way I understand this is if your account goes negative $2000 your out of the ball game. With a $15 ticket charge, thats only 70 round trips. A new trader wouldnt stand a chance.

Question about Steve Woods 2400% return

Finished reading Steve's book. Said I would post a comment so here it is. I think there's some value here for longer term investors but little to help the short term trader. Most of the buy and sell setups seemed to me to be pretty obvious without the float analysis. Could possibly get you in a...

What leads the U.S. Markets? Futures? Stocks?

Think about it for a minute. It is impossible for anything to lead the market for any length of time. If something led the market even for a few days, somebody would spot it, word would get around, everybody would jump on and the advantage would disappear. Actually there is one leading indicator...

    An Observation...

I think the people affected by this rule arent but a tiny pimple on the big fat ass of the market. No offense intended.:D

    Newbie question

IB is great. Recommend Townsend Analytics for data and charts. Its a little higher than esignal but not much and has a lot of nice features that esignal does not. You can scan the premarket for gaps, drag and drop from your quotes to your charts and much more.

My first options trades, take a look.

Go back to the drawing board and figure all this out before your next trade. If you do not know what to do next, you should not be in the market. Just my opinion.

Is Money Management the "Holy Grail"?

The market had an upward bias until March 2000. There is no guarantee, absolutely none, that it will go back up. The market has taught me not to look beyond the next 5 minutes.....or 1 minute, depending on which chart I'm using..:)

New E-Mini traders (under 25K traders) trading journal

juggernaut I guess its in the eye of the beholder. I still dont see it. The first 30 min. is sort of a range but there is a higher high and a higher low there, then it goes parabolic. I have my own method for determining a trend day. When I'm stopped out on my third try at shorting the top. :)

New E-Mini traders (under 25K traders) trading journal

juggernaut "You can tell from early in the day that it will only trend in one direction by how tight the trading range is. " Would you mind expanding on that statement a bit. I have found it extremely hard to predict a trending day early on. I'm glad they dont happen too often as I usually...
