Traders all over the nation are having trouble with IB several times a day.... ...just got their notice that listed stocks begining with D-H are unavailable beween the hours of 2-3PM on odds days, and R-Z are unavailable on Fridays and Wednesdays, and the system will be down at random times...

Well, I don't mind listening to you debate whether or not the housing market will crash, but I started this thread to figure out if anyone was actually positioning themselves for a crash, and if so, how. Sounds like not too many people hold bearish positions w/regards to the housing market.

Is anyone here even considering going short the housing market (and if so, how?)

Is shorting stocks the only way to profit from the decline, or are there any other vechicles through which a person can potentially profit from a crash in housing?

What are some of the best ways to profit from a crash in housing prices, if one occurs? Should I short the Homebuilders? Should a buy puts on them? What are some other strategies I'm missing?

I tried it for about 5 minutes 3 months ago and found that it kept freezing up as well (IB level II with quotetracker).... I thought maybe it was just me, but it sounds like it's a universal problem.

Can someone here give me their opinion on using IB's level II feed in Quotetracker? Is it fast (accurate) or does it lag a bit? Thanks!
